Monkey has joined the Speedo Sea Squad

Monkey has joined the Speedo Sea SquadAs I’ve always battled with a fear of water and only learnt to swim when I was 26 (really do need to go back for more lessons now), I’ve been keen for Monkey to be a water baby.  He did used to go for lessons at our local pool, but sadly this closed last December.  We thought it would re-open in a few months but it now appears it won’t be repaired until early 2014.  It’s such a shame as he was doing really well.  I will be booking him in for lessons as soon as it opens – that’s for sure.  In the meantime I take him to pools further away when we have the opportunity.  Not quite the same as proper lessons on your doorstep though.  Especially as I’m not confident in the water myself. But now Monkey has joined the Speedo Sea Squad he is fully equipped for a life in the pool.

We should have taken part in a Learn to Swim with Speedo Sea Squad event last month, but sadly we couldn’t get there on the day. We were both gutted as Monkey would have met an Olympic swimmer, but it couldn’t be helped.  But very kindly, the team sent us some Speedo Sea Squad goodies which we’ve started to put to the test.

Monkey has joined the Speedo Sea SquadWith the Speedo Sea Squad range there is everything you need to help your children swim and be confident in the water, from swim seats for babies, armbands and float suits for those starting to swim and dive toys and mini kick boards for those more confident in the water.

I’m not sure we’ll be braving a dip in the sea when we visit Hunstanton at the weekend.  But we used Monkey’s new Sea Squad Character cap and Mini kickboard when we were away last weekend (sadly the only time I didn’t have my camera with me).  He loved them both and when I’m by myself with Monkey the armbands will give me a bit of reassurance with him too.

The full range of Speedo Sea Squad range is available from Speedo.co.uk, Sainsburys, John Lewis and Debenhams.
