Tractor Ted, All About Tractors DVD, Christmas Activity Book

Tractor Ted – AD sent for review and giveaway

disclosure:  we were sent these items for the purpose of review and giveaway

Any regular reader of this blog will know that my son adores Tractor Ted, and I really like the educational aspect of this brand.

We’ve been lucky enough to review a number of the Tractor Ted DVD’s before – including In the Springtime, Big Machines, Meet the Horses, Meet More Animals and Showtime and had some great books to read and enjoy like Meet the Animals and Big Machines and some Activity fun. We’ve been so impressed with these, that we’ve added to our collection over the last year.

The Tractor Ted DVD’s and books are very factual, show real farm machinery at work and explain how farms work.  My son has learnt so much from them, as have Daddy P and I! There is a great educational value to these items.  We were thrilled to receive the newly released Tractor Ted All About Tractors DVD (with Christmas Special) and the Tractor Ted Christmas Activity Book.

Tractor Ted

He had had a busy weekend and needed to chill out a bit, so the Tractor Ted All About Tractors DVD was just what he needed.  He couldn’t wait to see what adventurers Tractor Ted had in-store for him.

Tractor Ted

All About Tractors is a 40 minute DVD full of all things tractor related.  You can watch a tractor on a production line and see exactly how it works with Les.  My little boy loves Les!  We’d seen Les bale wrapping at the Tractor Ted Farm Show, so he was excited to see more baling action.  There’s slurry action too – this sent him into fits of laughter.  He’s at the ‘everything is related to poo’ stage at the moment, so this section was a big hit!  There is also a lovely Christmas Special where you can see Reindeer and their sleigh.

Tractor Ted All About Tractors DVD got a big thumbs up from him and would go down a treat with any tractor obsessed pre-schooler out there!

The Tractor Ted’s Christmas Activity Book follows a similar format to other Activity Books in the range. I love the fact, that as with the DVD’s the pictures are of actual animals and machinery in this book.

We can count from 1-10 and discuss the animals we meet along the way.  This part made me realise how far he has come since we explored our first Activity Book.  Our next step will be to trace the dot-to-dots to write our numbers.  Number One is a Red Squirrel, he hasn’t seen one in the wild yet, but one day I’ll take him to Granada with Granny and Gramps, as they are commonplace there.  You can spot the difference with some tractors and farm machinery and match the footprints in the snow to the right animals.

There are loads of other activities in this 30-page book to keep youngsters entertained – colouring pages, colours, farm animal homes as well as opposites.  If that is not enough for you – then the last few pages give us some Christmas recipes to try out too! I think we’ll be trying the Reindeer cupcakes here.

  1. Chickens. My Grandad, who I don’t remember as he died when I was 18 months old, used to keep them. I feel affinity towards them.

  2. On a normal farm my favorite animal would be the sheep but on a more exotic farm Id have to say llama’s.

  3. So long as there is a fence between them and me I find cows fascinating! I could watch them for hours 🙂

  4. Ducks I love em Actually had 2 little ducklings they followed me everywhere and I mean everywhere. to the school when I dropped the kids off and picked them up. I literally stopped traffic with them because people would just pull over and watch the ducks walk when I did and stop when I did lol. Ended up giving them to a farmer they needed the open space and to learn to fly I miss them

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
