Charlie Crow in the Snow – 12 Days of Christmas books – Day 12

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the wonderful books in my 12 Days of Christmas books posts.  Today is Day 12 and I’m finishing with another lovely picture book – Charlie Crow in the Snow.

Charlie Crow in the SnowCharlie Crow in the Snow is written by Paula Metcalf and illustrated by Cally Johnson-Isaacs.  It’s a lovely 32 page hardback book that follows Charlie Crow as he discovers that winter offers a few challenges to his happy existence.

Charlie Crow in the SnowWe follow Charlie Crow as questions what is happening all around him with his friend Squirrel.  They can’t sleep like Bear, they can’t fly away like Swallow.  What is happening?  Then they discover that snow, ice and winter can be fun.

Charlie Crow in the SnowCharlie Crow in the Snow is a lovely story of friendship, and when Charlie is sad and missing his friends Squirrel has a surprise in store – I won’t ruin the ending – it’s sweet.

This book is great for talking about the changes in the seasons and what we see over the winter months.  Monkey will be 4 in December, and he loves snow.  He’s really taking notice of the changes in the weather this year and we used Charlie Crow in the Snow to talk about what is happening right now in the garden.  What can we expect over the coming months.

We both enjoyed reading Charlie Crow in the Snow, published by PanMacmillan, and can recommend it.

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

A Mum with a 9 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure. If you like what you read please leave me a comment, I love to hear from people, and always try to reply. Enjoy the read.
