Charlie Crow in the Snow – 12 Days of Christmas books – Day 12 – AD sent for review

disclosure:  we were sent this book for the purpose of review

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the wonderful books in my 12 Days of Christmas books posts.  Today is Day 12 and I’m finishing with another lovely picture book – Charlie Crow in the Snow.

Charlie Crow in the Snow

Charlie Crow in the Snow is written by Paula Metcalf and illustrated by Cally Johnson-Isaacs.  It’s a lovely 32-page hardback book that follows Charlie Crow as he discovers that winter offers a few challenges to his happy existence.

We follow Charlie Crow as questions what is happening all around him with his friend Squirrel.  They can’t sleep like Bear, they can’t fly away like Swallow.  What is happening?  Then they discover that snow, ice and winter can be fun.

Charlie Crow in the Snow is a lovely story of friendship, and when Charlie is sad and missing his friends Squirrel has a surprise in store – I won’t ruin the ending – it’s sweet.

This book is great for talking about the changes in the seasons and what we see over the winter months.  My son will be 4 in December, and he loves snow.  He’s really taking notice of the changes in the weather this year and we used Charlie Crow in the Snow to talk about what is happening right now in the garden.  What can we expect over the coming months?

We both enjoyed reading Charlie Crow in the Snow, published by PanMacmillan and can recommend it.
