We’re now into the second week of term and in the back of my mind I’m always wondering when will we get ‘the letter’. The letter telling us that head lice are in school. I know that they are often doing the rounds in school, so I’m sure at some point in time it’s going to happen. So I’m all prepared for ‘the letter’ with Lyclear Head Lice treatment.
Lyclear is a leading head lice treatment, and can come in shampoo or spray form. It contains no insecticides and is suitable for children over the age of 2. The treatment works by suffocating and dehydrating both lice and their eggs so that it stops them and the development of the eggs.
Lyclear head lice treatment comes in three options; a spray, shampoo and a sensitive lotion. We’ve received the 200ml treatment shampoo, which comes complete with a anti-lice comb.
So as and when I receive ‘the letter’ I am all equipped to take immediate action. The instructions are really easy to follow.
You use the anti-lice comb to check each member of the household for the little critters with DRY hair, it’s easier apparently. I already know that behind the ears and the nape of the neck are favourite hunting grounds. After each use clean the comb thoroughly in lukewarm, soapy water, to avoid further infestation.
If you should find some new residents in your family’s hair then apply the Lyclear head lice treatment shampoo, again to DRY hair, covering well and massage in from root to tip, again paying particular attention to the lice’s favourite haunts. Leave it on for 10 minutes – not for a minute less please.
After 10 minutes, add enough water to the hair to work up a lather, wash and rinse the hair thoroughly. Make sure you rinse everything.
before drying the hair use the anti-lice comb to remove the lice and eggs by combing wet hair with the comb, divide into sections from forehead to nape of neck and from ear to ear. As you carefully go through the hair, make sure you clean the comb with a cotton wall pad every time you find lice and/or eggs.
Repeat the treatment after 7 days. The Lyclear Head Lice Treatment costs around £14.00, but is currently on offer at Amazon for £10.00.
If you would like to see the Lyclear Head Lice treatment in action, then pop over to The Brick Castle, where Jenny had reason to use it last month.
disclaimer: we were sent this product in return for an honest review.
I’m constantly buying lotions as my 6 yo has very thick hair which they hide in
Monkey’s hair is quite thick, I’m hoping it’ll be easier as it’s short – time will tell!
My girls school is rife with nits!! Luckily they have only caught them a few times….I;m itching now thinking about it…hehehe
I was writing the post!
I’ll have to remember this for when the inevitable happens!
Yes, i don’t remember them being in school at all when we were kids, but guess they must have been
Luckily I haven’t had to deal with the creepy crawlies yet
I’m hoping we don;t get a visit any time soon, but best to be prepared
