So this week’s theme for The Photo Gallery is Weather – how very apt! Last Friday the gales were so bad here I really did think the roof might fly off. I’ve never heard wind like it. Don’t even get me started on the rain. I am sick of the sight of the stuff. We have a nature pond, we also now have a pond covering the top of our sandpit cover. As quick as I empty it all down the drain, it rains again, and I’m back where I started.
Then there was a little glimmer of hope ….
A break in the clouds, a flash of blue sky. Then it was gone, again ….. The rain started again and everywhere is suffering.
Streams look like rivers, rivers resemble lakes, fields, what fields??
I really couldn’t pick one of these photos out to stand above the rest, to sum up, the weather. To sum up the weather of the last few days. But there is a glimmer of hope for the British weather. We’re off to Spain at the end of next week. We are bound to take the weather with us!
I do love that cloud reflection in the “fields”:-)
It’s wonderful isn’t it, but I was so amazed to discover the scene – water everywhere!
we have fields near my Mum’s house that look like lakes now, we haven’t seen greenery poking through for months
It’s just gone on for so long hasn’t it, although we’ve had a lovely sunny day here today.
Oh dear it does look really wet with you. Hope you don’t take the weather to Spain with you! Maybe you could bring some sunshine back for us all though?!
I am renowned for taking bad weather to Spain, and the weather at Mum’s is not great at the moment anyway :/
Everyone appears to have had equally bad weather. Luckily being in the hills has, at least, kept us out of the floods.
Yes, we’re lucky to not be on a flood plain but all around us it is such a different story.
Rain and more rain ! I feel sorry for anyone in the floods
So do I, someone I used to work with had her flat flooded out – nightmare
I hope you have a brilliant time in Spain. I’m sure the weather will be much better than here!
I hope so too, not sure it will be much better than here, but we live in hope
Love the glimmer of hope photo!
Thank you, it was a ‘must take a photo of that’ moment
need to hold on to those hopeful little glimmers at the moment!
Hope you have a lovely holiday 🙂
Don’t we just, although we’ve had a lovely sunny day today so fingers crossed.
It’s been so changeable Mary hasn’t it – I thought our patio windows were coming in the other day. Great to see some signs of spring though and that sunshine! Lovely photos – especially love the last one. Spain will be awesome 🙂
Thanks, I kno, I really thought we would have some damage after last Friday night.
Ahhh yes, that little glimmer of hope in the sky that has me outside walking…. in the rain, yet again. I hope things change soon

It’s just so changeable isn’t it. We’ve had glorious sunshine and torrential rain today.
I think I would rather you brought the sunshine back than taking the rain with you!
Y’see, in the North West it rains ALL the time. We’ve had lots of rain too but we’re so used to it that we don’t really notice. The difference is the geology I think, and the hills, ours just drains away.
It does rain a lot here too, but not quite to this level
