Just Right for Two is a 32 page paperback picture book which was published last summer. It features lovely illustrations throughout by Rosalind Beardshaw. Aimed at children over 3 years of age, it’s a heartwarming tale of unexpected friendship.
We meet Dog and his suitcase full of treasures, he immediately struck a chord with my 4 year old Monkey as they both have special pine cones. Monkey has a whole host of them, collected from near and far. He liked the fact that Dog liked sticks too! Dog was quite happy with his own company and his little blue suitcase until a Mouse came to stay.
Rather reluctantly Dog showed Mouse his treasures and then agreed to one game of hide and seek. Before long Mouse was off on his way, but nothing seemed quite right anymore in Dog’s world. What could be missing?
Just Right for Two really is a lovely read, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed it, and it’s been a firm favourite at bedtime since it arrived.
