Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam – a book review

Shifty McGifty and Slippery SamThe second Tracey Corderoy book I have to review for you is Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam.  A totally different book from Just Right for Two.

Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam

Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam is a paperback picture book full of rhyming text.  The illustrations by Steven Lenton are brilliant.  We meet two robber dogs who are terrible thieves.  Wherever they go, then end up coming home empty-handed.  They decided that they might have better luck if they try to rob their neighbours!

Shifty McGifty and Slippery SamTheir dastardly plan involves a lot of cake making, one of our favourite things.  The neighbours were lured to a party with cakes as far as the eye could see.  Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam planned to steal from their neighbours whilst they were tucking into the culinary delights.

Well we all know that crime doesn’t pay, sure enough these villans got caught in the act, with surprising results.  Apparently it’s never too late for old dogs to learn new tricks!

This book is aimed at children 3 years and over, it’s a really fun book to read, Monkey has thoroughly enjoyed it.  Another big thumbs up here.

disclaimer:  we were sent this book for the purpose of review, our comments however, remain our own honest opinions
