We missed all the dressing up excitement that comes with World Book Day as we were in Spain. Monkey has only just started to show any interest in this kind of role play. I think his school nativity play has helped, as I’ve certainly seen a change since then. Today I’d like to introduce PC Monkey with Joker’s Masquerade!
As regular readers will know, Monkey got his first bike recently, a Police Bike. So when looking for a dressing up costume, there was only one option. We went for Child’s Police Boy Costume from Jokers’ Masquerade. This set is currently on offer for £13.49 on the website. It’s available in 3 sizes, to fit children between the ages of 4-12. We picked the Small size – aimed at children aged 4-6 years.
The outfit is made up of a pair of trousers with an elasticated waist, an all in one short-sleeved top, a Police Hat and a clip on walkie-talkie. Monkey wanted to put it on as soon as we unwrapped the parcel. The badge on the hat is sewn on, so no risk of it getting lost, or someone accidentally stabbing themselves on a safety-pin.
Pc Monkey with Jokers Masquerade!
He decided to keep his long-sleeved top on underneath which did make the all in one top a bit of a squeeze. I’m not sure that the top will see him through the next two years, but there is more growing room in the trousers. All kids are different aren’t they, and I think you always tend to get this issue with clothing designed to cover a number of ages.
The outfit is well made and Monkey really loved the police hat and walkie-talkie. The only downside from his point of view was not being able to clip the walkie-talkie onto the jacket. He’d seen the photo on the front of the bag and wanted to copy it. Unfortunately, as the jacket is an integral part of the shirt, we just couldn’t get the clip to hold. We tried a different approach and he was happy.
So as Monkey decided who he needed to arrest first, Daddy P or Teddy, I quickly fled the scene!
The Jokers’ Masquerade website has a whole host of fancy dress items for children and adults alike. Children from 6 months onwards are catered for too. We’ll certainly know where to look when World Book Day comes around next year.
disclaimer: we were sent this item for the purpose of review, our comments remain our own honest opinions.
Fabulous outfit and some great poses by Monkey. My 2 would love this outfit as it’d mean that get to dress up like daddy!
Of course! I’d forgotten that. Monkey would be in awe I think.
Monkey looks so cute as a Police Officer!! So grown up too. Hubby’s a policeman and there are quite a lot of police themed toys in our house – LP will definitely be getting a police outfit in the next year or so x
Oh wow, Monkey would be dead impressed! Bless him, all of a sudden he LIKES dressing up.
Bud has started to enjoy dressing up recently too, it must be an age thing! I think he’d love this set too.
Maybe you’re right. But his friends have been enjoying dressing up for absolutely ages
What a great outfit! I can imagine he will have a lot of fun with that!
He really likes it, a new era in our household
Your Monkey certainly looks the part! and you cant beat a bit of dressing up and role play!
He’s just started getting in to this sort of thing.
