Baking with Cake Angels

Baking with Cake AngelsAs regular readers will know, my 4 year old son Monkey and I, are often to be found baking in the kitchen.  Monkey is normally in charge of egg beating, scooping cake mixture into cake tins and, of course, taste testing!  The lovely people at Cake Angels thought that we might like to brighten up our cakes, and they sent us a range of goodies recently.

DSCN1070Cake Angels offer a range of edible and eye catching cake decorations and accessories. With the explosion of Great British Bake Off, cupcakes still as popular as ever and a quarter of us Brits having a go at our own creations in our own kitchens every week, the home baking craze is showing no sign of slowing down!  From seasonal decorations to bespoke birthday candles, the range carries something suitable for every cake baking occasion.

Monkey set me the task of making some Vanilla Cupcakes, we gathered our ingredients and set to work. Baking with Cake AngelsAre they ready yet Mummy?  I want to decorate them!!!

Baking with Cake AngelsOnce the cakes had finished in the oven, I explained to Monkey that they did actually need time to cool down.  How long Mummy?  It wasn’t too long before our fun time Baking with Cake Angels could begin.

We used the Cake Angels Chocolate Fudge Icing to ice our cupcakes.  I tried using my piping bag but I really am rubbish with it!!  So some were piped and some were spooned over with icing.  The good thing is, you don’t have to use the whole 450g tub in one go.  Seal it up and put it in the fridge and it will keep for up to 3 weeks.

Monkey had a Pirate themed birthday party, I still had the cake stand and some cake cases left.  The new candles were a great addition and I’ll be bearing that in mind this year.

Once I’d iced, it was over to Monkey to add the decorations, he loved the vehicle themed toppers.  But he really enjoyed using the Chocolate Passion shaker to add Chocolate Duo Swirls, Due Hearts, Curls and Strands as well as the brightly coloured goodies in the Spring Seasonal Fun shaker.

We had great fun getting creative and baking with Cake Angels.  I’m saving for Mini Marshmallows for an Easter idea I have, and I’m sure we’ll be making good use of our Cake Angels products over the coming weeks.  The products are good quality and the end results taste very good indeed!

  1. Your cakes look fab! You’re a lot better at icing than I am – I went for the dolloped on with a spoon effect! x

  2. Lovely looking cakes. I’ve just bought a new icing bag, haven’t tried it out yet though

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
