Dressing the part with La Redoute

Dressing the part with La Redoute

Dressing the part with La RedouteMy best friend is always telling me about La Redoute and suggesting that I try them for something different.  I decided that I needed a new direction for my Spring/Summer wardrobe and so I’m dressing the part with La Redoute.

La Redoute makes French style accessible to all – with stylish looks and timeless pieces – plus guidance and advice on how to look good. You get a great choice of clothes that fit well and flatter – the way only the French seem to know how. All our communications; website, catalogue, mailings and emails, give you useful ideas, tips and best buys. The prices make it great value too and it’s all delivered straight to your door. That’s what we call French style made easy.

There were plenty of options to choose from within the New Collection section on womenswear, I’m always going for tops.  I decided that I would literally be dressing the part with La Redoute and went for a dress.  Don’t pass out with the shock.  Mind you, I do think my albino legs did.  A dress?? The started to quiver, they don’t get to see daylight often.

I decided to try the Ethnic Tunic Dress with Jellabah Neckline in a size 10.  Quite a bold pattern for me!
Dressing the part with La Redoute Of course, my beloved blue had to feature somewhere! What looks like black is actually a dark brown.  I have to be honest, when I opened the packet, I thought I’d been sent a bigger size, it looked quite large.  I was also expecting more of a tailored waistline from the photographs on the website.  Time to try it on and see if my impressions changed.Dressing the part with La Redoute The dress is deceiving, it fitted really well, wasn’t too large at all.  I still wish it was slightly more fitted as the waistline, but overall I’m really pleased.  I had to leave Daddy P in charge of photography so you don’t get a really good close up of the dress itself!  I like the neckline detail, it reminds me of a kaftan style garment.Dressing the part with La RedouteI won’t subject you to the photo with me baring my legs, but this dress could be worn with flats, heels or boots, or even flip-flops on the beach.  But priced at £59.00 you might decide against wearing it around the pool after all.  It irons beautifully and washes well.

I love the three-quarter length sleeves and the 90cm length is perfect for me, not too short, not too long.  It’s made from 100% viscose and feels really soft and floaty. If we have a heat wave in June this might even be my BritMums Live dress.  What do you think?

  1. I love ethnic prints, and this tunic looks lovely on you. I have been buying clothes in La Redoute for many years, they have some fab pieces

  2. It looks great on! I think it would be the perfect dress for Britmums. I do love La Redoute, I always think they have some really different things that you don’t see everyone wearing.

  3. It’s a lovely pattern. I probably wouldn’t have chosen such a bold pattern for myself but it really suits you

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
