Project 365 - Week 19

Project 365 – Week 19

Joining in with TheBoyAndMe and her linky 365 Project  A Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year!  Project 365 – Week 19 Days 124-130.

Sunday 4th May – Day 124

Project 365 - Week 19

We made use of our new National Trust membership and spent a wonderful day at Polesden Lacey in Surrey.  A quick visit to the house, I was in heaven as the Bentley Drivers Club was holding a rally.  I adore old Bentley’s, then off for a walk around the grounds.  We only covered a little of the trails but had time for a bit of den building.  Full post to follow soon, but well worth a visit and we’ll be back!

Monday 5th May – Day 125

Project 365 - Week 19

A day at home, getting Monkey’s vegetable patch sorted out and putting up our new mini beast hotels!  He really loves being in the garden.  It was lovely to watch him and his Dad doing something together.  Monkey had his swimming lesson with Daddy P coming to watch again.  He’s doing ok, just still very timid with the teacher, not helped by that fact he had a different one again this week.  Great having lessons every Monday except Christmas, not great that every half term etc the teacher changes.  Think he’s now had 5 different teachers since he started not that long ago.  Not great for a shy little boy who needs to get to know someone before he relaxes.

Tuesday 6th May – Day 126

Project 365 - Week 19

Back to school and animal dress up day.  Bad Mummy didn’t realise that Nursery was included until late last night.  One Kangaroo onesie had already been promised to a friend in Reception.  It was late, I had no inspiration to make something!  I found a Donkey mask, but Monkey was having none of that, so a Monkey t-shirt was the next best thing.  After school we had fun playing the Catch and Count Game from Orchard Toys.

Wednesday 7th May – Day 127

Project 365 - Week 19

Monkey’s been sent a new Fire Engine to review and he decided that the box it came in would make a good Fire Station – as you do!  So after Nursery School it was time to get the paint out so he could begin his transformation.  when he’d covered his Fire Station in Red and Blue (don’t ask) paint, he made some safety cones out of old egg boxes and covered them in Easter egg foils!  Nothing like a bit of upcycling.

Thursday 8th May – Day 128

Project 365 - Week 19

We had been reading up on the information that came with our new bee houses, and Monkey decided that he wanted to go exploring.  It was raining though, so he had a hunt indoors instead!

Friday 9th May – Day 129

Project 365 - Week 19

We had a lovely afternoon playing Farmyard Dominoes and reading books.  At dinner time I was telling Monkey that I had another swimming lesson this evening.  Will you be blowing bubbles Mummy?  So here he is practicing for me.  Swimming went well, I’m no longer the new one in the pool!  It’s getting a bit crowded now and there’s a fair bit of waiting your turn.  Not great in a freezing pool, but I’m doing so much better with my face in the water Just need to coordinate breathing, legs and arms – it’s just not easy!!

Saturday 10th May – Day 130

Project 365 - Week 19

We had planned to meet a friend and her little boy at Millets Farm for a picnic, but with the weather was so changeable we decided to meet at Studley Grange Butterfly World instead. There’s lots to keep a mischievous Monkey entertained indoors, and we managed to get outside to see the animals between downpours.  Dinosaur Roar!

  1. I wish we had a butterfly farm near us – our nearest one closed down!
Love the pic of him making the fire station – how creative!

  2. Bless him with his magnifying glass! He looks very grown up in the bubbles photo.

  3. Looks like you all had a great week. It took my little one about a year before she spoke to the teachers and now they’ve moved her to after school hours she is back to being shy. I’ll stick with it for a few more weeks though x

  4. Such happy pics! Are you having swim lessons? That’s something I’d love to do. And I’m always forgetting things and I’m sure you’re not the first to forget a dress up day 🙂

  5. Gosh Monkey is looking so grown up in these photos. You had me at Polesden Lacey this week, love the place. How fabulous there was a Bentley Driver’s Club Rally, that must have been brilliant. Sounds like a great week overall, you’ve all been so busy – amazes me how you fit it all in with nursery too 🙂

  6. I love the mini beast hotels (had to peek at the post). Lovely photos of an active week!

  7. swimming lessons must be difficult for you, but will pay off in the end. Shame they keep changing his teacher, not a lot of use for continuity somehow. Hope he didnt find too many bugs indoors, and what great upcycling

  8. Monkey has good imagination making a fire station out of the box. Good use of resources. 🙂

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
