Algy's Amazing Adventures at Sea

Algy’s Amazing Adventures at Sea – a book review

You may remember we reviewed Algy’s Amazing Adventures in the Arctic; well Algy is off on an another adventure!

Algy's Amazing Adventures at SeaOrion Books released the Algy’s Amazing Adventures at Sea last month.  Written by Kaye Umansky we join Algy, his best friend Cherry and her little brother Brad as they go on another exciting adventure.

You may remember from our last outing with Algy; that he has a magic shed at the bottom of his garden.  Where would the trio end up this time?  This adventure takes them on a journey to a remote island at sea.

Algy's Amazing Adventures at Sea

Algy befriends a parrot called George, who helps to wreck Algy’s much disliked woollen scarf.  Algy dreams off taking his new friend home but his dreams are dashed.

On the horizon lurks a pirate ship and the friends are surrounded by a group of pirates.  I won’t ruin the ending, but this is another lovely Early Reader book.  Aimed at children who are starting to read for themselves, the 62 page paperback book entertains from the outset.

Monkey has thoroughly enjoyed my reading to him and sharing Algy’s Amazing Adventures at Sea.  Richard Watson’s illustrations are colourful and his pirates are wonderful.

Priced at £4.99 we love this range of Early Readers.
