Leafy Lee and other bedtime stories

Leafy Lee and other bedtime stories

As you all know we love picture books here, but as Monkey will be 5 very soon I want to start introducing more story books.  He’s still coming round to the idea of more words and less pictures, but Leafy Lee and other bedtime stories has been a great success.

Leafy Lee and other bedtime stories

Leafy Lee and other bedtime stories is written by Zoe Cox and contains lovely illustrations from Gill Guile.  Aimed at children aged 5 years and over, this lovely paperback storybook will be published through Matador on 28th November.

The book contains 9 different stories, each covering 3 pages, so they really are perfect bedtime reading material for us.

We have a couple of favorites – Mucky Micky Goes on Holiday, which is all about a messy dog who is always getting himself into trouble, he certainly met his match at the beach – ouch!

Leafy Lee and other bedtime stories

Is it Time Yet? is another lovely tale.  Monkey is starting to get to grips with telling the time and we will hopefully have something to help with that arriving very soon.  He could really relate to the story of Rachel, who just wants it to be her birthday as she’s asked for her very first watch.  The big day arrives and she gets her watch, and she busily keeps checking the time to see how long it is before her party starts.  Oh no, it needs new batteries!

We’ve really enjoyed reading the stories in Leafy Lee and other bedtime stories.  It’s a great transition book and would be a lovely present for someone this Christmas.
