The Primal Kitchen – a snack bar review

The Primal Kitchen

I’m always looking for healthy options for us as a family, especially when we need a quick boost from a snack.  I’m sure I’m not alone in worrying about sugars and additives and what actually is in the food I’m serving up to Monkey and Daddy P.  This is even more of a concern when it comes to snacks!  Well, The Primal Kitchen have introduced us to their range of Paleo bars and they are delicious!

The Primal Kitchen

The Primal Kitchen produce 4 different Paleo Bars – Coconut & Macadamia, Almond & Cashew, Brazil Nut & Cherry and, Hazelnut and Cacao.  They all contain only nuts, unsweetened fruit and almond oil – nothing else.

The Primal Kitchen

The bars are free of grains, gluten, refined sugar, soy, vegetable oil and of course any kind of additive, preservative, flavouring or colouring.

I have to be totally honest, Monkey hasn’t had a look in with these bars, Daddy P and I got there first.  I’m not the biggest fan of coconut but Daddy P tells me that the Coconut and Macadamia bar went down well.

As for the other three flavours – yum!  They are so moist and flavoursome.  I really liked them all, although I think the Almond and Cashew Paleo bar is probably my favourite.  But it’s a hard call.  I shall be hunting more down on my next shopping trip.  They are priced at £1.49 for a 45g bar and can be found in Tesco, Superdrug, leading health food stores as well as from The Primal Kitchen website.

If like me you haven’t heard about Paleo before, you can read all about it here, very interesting.
