Robopop

Robopop – book review

Monkey is quite a fan of Alice Hemming and Bibble and the Bubbles is often the bedtime story of choice in this household.  So I was interested to see what he would make of her latest book, Robopop – A Dad in a Box which was published through Maverick Arts Publishing last month.

Robopop

Dylan and Daisy are rather embarrassed by their Dad, he’s a little different from all the other Dad’s at school.  He doesn’t have a normal job, he’s geeky and he invents all sorts of weird contraptions.

So Dad decides that he’ll give the children a bit of excitement with Robopop.  The children  receive a delivery – Robopop, the 21st Century Father Figure who will look after them instead of Dad.

Wow!  What fun were Dylan and Daisy going to have as Robopop loves playing football and he wears a tie, just like all the other Dad’s.

But of course there are a couple of morals to this tale, beware what you wish for being one of them! Robopop likes to win, at any cost.  When Daisy wants to go on the swings, he jumps the queue and then makes everyone else sad and angry when he stops them from having a turn.

Perhaps having a Dad who was a little bit different wasn’t actually so bad after all, but how do the kids put an end to Robopop and his antics?

Priced at £6.99 this is another winner from Alice Hemming in this house.  My Amazon affiliate link is shown below for your reference.
