Project 365 2015 Week 7

Joining in with TheBoyAndMe and her linky 365 Project  A Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year!  Project 365 2015 Week 7 Days 39-45.

Sunday 8th February – Day 39

Project 365 2015 Week 7

We spent the day at Packwood House with Redpeffer and her family.  The weather was glorious and the kids were a dream, playing together, it was wonderful to watch.  Monkey was more independent and the day was totally wonderful.  If we can order weather like this for next month I will be very happy indeed.

Monday 9th February – Day 40

Project 365 2015 Week 7

While Monkey was at school I went to my sewing class and made a pair of pj shorts for him for the summer.  Just the waistband to sort out now and they are done.  Monkey received a belated birthday present from a school friend – it was love at first sight.  You can never have too many tractors.

Tuesday 10th February – Day 41

Project 365 2015 Week 7

It was really foggy when we got up this morning.  One of those days I’m very grateful that I don’t need to drive to work.

Wednesday 11th February – Day 42

Project 365 2015 Week 7

A difficult day for me remembering a friend I lost 15 years ago.  A Jado Chi session was much-needed to take my mind off memories.  When I’d got Monkey ready for school I realised the stitching on his school shoes had broken and new shoes would be needed.  I knew his feet had grown anyway.  He went off on a school trip to the Story Museum in Oxford and then we rushed down to Clarks when school was over.  The boy is catching me up way too fast.

Thursday 12th February – Day 43

Project 365 2015 Week 7

I had my hair cut and coloured in the morning and then after school there was much excitement as Monkey was going for tea at his best friends house for the first time.  Of course, being the timid little thing that he is, I had to go too, although he really didn’t need me!  It was lovely to watch them together having lots of fun.  Maybe next time he’ll be brave enough to go without me.  When we got home I was challenged to make a maize harvester from Stickle Bricks so Monkey could do some harvesting, as you do.

Friday 13th February – Day 44

Project 365 2015 Week 7

I love the days that start with Monkey reading to me.  Jobs done in the morning whilst Monkey was at school and then a luscious lunch out with my NCT Mums and the three younger boys in our little group.  None of them are babies now as the youngest will be 2 next week.  Picked Monkey up from school – the holidays have started and he spent the afternoon converting a cardboard box into a home for his Teddy.

Saturday 14th February – Day 45
Project 365 2015 Week 7

We met up with Monkey’s godmum and daughter at Crocodiles of the World and thankfully avoided the horrific accident on the M40.  Awful foggy conditions – when will people put their lights on and slow down.  We had a brilliant day and the kids really enjoyed it.  Monkey has been reliving the day with the crocodile that came home with us and we all learnt something – can’t ask more from a day out can you.  Monkey wasn’t brave enough to hold an alligator but he did touch its tail!

  1. It must be amazing hearing Monkey read to you Mary, I can’t wait until POD can do that. She loves books as well. Sounds like you’ve had a really busy week and a hard one obviously too, must have been tough. Thinking of you x

  2. Its lovely when they learn to read and write isnt it, nice to see how much they have grown and changed in a relatively short space of time.
So so sad about that accident, but its the same here people drive far to fast without ights in inappropriate weather.
What a fab stickle brick harvester you have made.

  3. I heard about the accident on the radio this afternoon and thought of you. Glad you avoided it. I love your stickle brick harvester, well done.

  4. It is lovely when they start being able to read to you isn’t it. I must admit I did think of you this morning when I heard about that horrible accident, then I saw your photo of Monkey with a crocodile! Hope you have a really fun half term.

  5. I’ve never heard of Crocodiles of the World! I do find crocodiles very scary, so I should probably avoid it! You can tell how nice the weather is in the first picture – we had sun that day too! Monkey’s feet do seem to be catching yours up! My eldest has destroyed his school shoes, so we will be going shoe shopping in half-term – he’s already overtaken me!

  6. The 8yo takes a size 2 and I’m a 4… it’s scary when they catch up with you 🙂 Like the sound of crocodiles of the world! I read the post about your friend, thinking of you x

  7. We loved Crocodiles of the world when we went too. Can’t believe the accident – horrendous. We had no fog, although quite often have it badly, so was a surprise to hear that’s what’s likely to have caused it. As you say, so many people drive without normal lights on, let alone fog lights.

(I can’t believe they called that puppy in the book Kevin! Surely they could have thought of a more ‘doggy’ name)

  8. Know what you mean about shoes. H is now nearly a 2. Only 4 sizes behind me. Think he’ll have big feet – his dad does.
Sounds like a horrible accident – glad you weren’t caught up in it.

  9. Oi, look at those shoes, Monkey is truly catching up with you. And yes, you can never have too many tractors (cars, Lego toys, Ninja turtles etc etc). Looks like you had a super duper week with Monkey.

  10. It’s great when they can start having their friends over and vice versa for tea. Gives them a bit of independence and their own social life.

  11. A beautiful post about your friend – glad Monkey was there reading to you and keeping you busy and happy with his beautiful smile this past week.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
