Project 365 2015 Week 22

Project 365 2015 Week 22

I’ve been joining in with Project 365 since the start of 2014, and been inspired by The Boy and Me to make sure I take a Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year!  Project 365 2015 Week 22 Days 144-150.

Sunday 24th May – Day 144

Project 365 2015 Week 22

We spent the day with Redpeffer and her family at Bowood House down in Wiltshire, at the Tractor Ted Big Machinery day.  It’s a smaller event that the main show we’ve been to in previous years but the kids were in their element and there was a lot of smiling faces all day.  Always a sign of a good days out.  Monkey spent his pocket money on a Tractor Ted DVD and it won’t be long before he has the full set!

Monday 25th May – Day 145

Project 365 2015 Week 22

We all spent the day at Polesden Lacey in Surrey.  We’d discovered that the National Trust site had a geo cache trail and we decided to try it out.  We’ll gloss over Iona and family getting lost, and me forgetting to bring any treasure to exchange in the cache’s.  But in the end it all went well and we had a great time.  Monkey is certainly hooked.  We did some of the trail by ourselves and then the Redpeffer gang joined us later on.  They missed out on seeing a deer running across in front of us – a highlight, even if I didn’t capture the moment on film.

Tuesday 26th May – Day 146

Project 365 2015 Week 22

Iona and family were due to head home and we were all rather tired after a hectic weekend, so we stayed local.  A walk around our local nature reserve was in order, followed by ice creams on the way home.

After our friends had departed, Monkey and I had a quiet afternoon at home, chilling out. We were both really tired.

Wednesday 27th May – Day 147

Project 365 2015 Week 22

We spent the day at Avebury in Wiltshire with Monkey’s godmum V and her daughter. The weather was lovely and it was great to be outside exploring the stones.  It’s been about 25 years since I last visited.

I can also thoroughly recommend a visit to Avebury Manor – the kids can touch pretty much anything.  Monkey and Miss M, got to jump on beds, have a Tudor banquet and grind coffee beans.  Real hands on learning – an excellent move by the National Trust.

Thursday 28th May – Day 148

Project 365 2015 Week 22

We spent the day with one of my nieces which was lovely. Proper quality time, just chilling out at home.  Then it was off to Monkey’s first stage 2 swimming lesson.  Oh dear.  New day, new time, new children and I’d forgotten that his teacher would be on holiday as it was half term.  It was a recipe for disaster, and floods of tears.  He joined in with part of the class when I stayed poolside, but then refused point-blank to do anything that was asked of him.  Of course, just to tease us, he did actually swim a width, but he wasn’t happy.  Hoping that once he sees his normal teacher again, he will feel happier.  Fingers crossed.

We headed to our local Pizza Express straight from the lesson, happy Monkey had returned to entertain us. Do you think he wants to audition for The Phantom of the Opera?

Friday 29th May – Day 149

Project 365 2015 Week 22

We spent the day with our special friend ‘Sheba’, we always have lots of fun and there was great entertainment for Monkey as he found her newly installed downstairs cloakroom! He was chatting away on the way home and then got straight down to some serious construction work.  Some things never change.

Saturday 30th May – Day 150

Project 365 2015 Week 22

We are both shattered after a busy week.  Today will be a day spent at home getting things sorted for our trip to Spain on Monday, clothes to be ironed and tried on, paperwork to be printed and some packing to be done.  Monkey has a major construction project going on, which should keep him out of mischief!

We won’t be around for next week’s Project 365, see you when we get back!

  1. It was a lovely break for us over the weekend and the kids didn’t want to leave! And yes, glad you glossed over the getting lost bit…definitely blaming the sat nav for that. I’m map reading the traditional way from now on x

  2. Great fun! I LOVE the JCB digger and trucks – and do I spy Thomas? Ickle Pickle x

  3. Love the pictures with the diggers and lorries, my little one would love those! The nature reserve looks beautifully peaceful.

  4. I’m quite envious of your trip to Spain! We’ve had a pretty boring half-term and it’s back to school tomorrow! Looks like you’ve had a fun week and I love the photo of Monkey in his mask! Sorry to hear his first swimming lesson in the new group didn’t go well. I remember my daughter was similar when she was little, but she’s a fantastic swimmer now 🙂

  5. What a fun week! Love Monkey’s smile in that first photo – he looks soooo happy!

  6. Looks like a fun half term. Love that Monkey seems to use all the Pizza Express stickers in one go too. N does that, mostly sticking over each other. Drives me mad.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
