As we find all kinds of pottery all around here, I’m fascinated with the Roman take over of England. Vikings were monsters.
The Tudors, especially during the reign of Henry VIII, you would never have known who was going to be beheaded next!

The Elizabethan Times, I think Elizabeth 1, had such a hard time in a man orientated world, but against it all she managed to rein for 45 years.

I like the Regency period for the fashion and etiquette of the day.
“Roaring Twenties ” :- Dancing, partying etc. I would not want to live through and experience War. The 1920’s was post-war, maybe things were improving following a period of deprivation, fear etc. They were enjoying what they could, whilst they could. I would like to experience a joyful time where / when there is co – hesiveness, Caring, Sharing, Empathy etc.

Victorian times and the industrial reviolution
My favourite piece/era of history is Europe post 1848, in particular German Unification from 1870 as this period was the foundation of the modern day and was instrumental in all events since.
My favourite is the very early Islamic history, the Makkan period
The Plantagenet era and the Cousins’ War is fascinating stuff…and what really did happen to the two princes in the Tower?
The 70’s I love the clothes and the music!
Late Victorian / Edwardian – it’s so close to us, but so far away, so different.
I like the Ancient Egyptians because they were so very clever and it’s interesting to read about those times.

I’m fascinated by Ancient Egyptians, always have. As a 10-12 year old I made my parents to buy me every possible book they had in our local book shop. I believe I lived in ancient Egypt 🙂
The Regency period. Everyone just seemed so much more polite and dignified in Jane Austen’s day.
The 14th Century. I loved learning about the plague when I was at school, especially because I had a pet rat at the time 🙂 x
Rainey – Tudor times. I love the fact that in the UK today, you still have tudor style architecture. It’s really beautiful!

Well, history taught in schools these days goes back to when I was growing up, but I would go back a little bit further to the swinging sixties!

I don’t have a favourite; I enjoy learning about the differences, similarities, positives and negatives of various periods.

Hard to narrow it down. From an architectural standpoint, I’d go with the Middle Ages. But I really like the American colonial period. It’s really interesting to see how the country develops.

I always loved Tudor times, probably because life seemed so manic and colourful then – I know I have a very romanticised and sanitised view of the times 🙂
The medieval times- I studied it at school and enjoyed learning about that period
Find the reformation period very interesting
Neolithic, as I love the idea of Man starting to farm and use the landscape becoming more static and creating the first monuments etc
