It’s all about transport today, which is actually Monkey’s topic at school this half term. We may be having a few traumas with school but at least he likes this theme! You all know that he’s tractor mad and John Deere is his favourite make of all things agricultural. I had no qualms that he wouldn’t want to pick up the My First Sound Book: Farm Vehicles! from Little Tiger Kids.
There are two new My First Sounds Books published this month; Emergency Rescue! and Farm Vehicles!, both written by Annette Rusling. The series are aimed at children aged 3-5 years of age and contain lots of factual information along with photographs.
Monkey may be 5 and half, but there’s still nothing more tempting than a button to press, especially if said tractor sounds like a tractor. The My First Sound Book: Farm Vehicles! covers all of his favourites – tractors, balers and of course, combine harvesters.
Even though Monkey is at the upper age limit of this book, he has still enjoyed looking through the pages and has learnt a few new words along the way. Winnow is now very much part of his play scenarios with his combine!
Although Monkey loves books, he’s still not keen on him being the one to do the reading. But I’m hoping that a book on his favourite subject might spur him on. The text is easy to read and we’ve had a little success, work in progress, but at least there is some enthusiasm.
Priced at £6.99 My First Sound Book: Farm Vehicles! is going to be a great buy for any vehicle mad younger child. I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link below for your information.
