A Box of Socks

A Box of Socks

You may remember that we previously reviewed A Scarf and A Half by Amanda Brandon back in October.  Well this afternoon I’m sharing her latest picture book with you – A Box of Socks, which was published recently through Maverick Arts Publishing.

A Box of Socks

In A Box of Socks we meet up again with Little Lionel the lamb and Granny Mutton, the prolific knitter. Granny Mutton knits all kinds of things for friends and family and we join her as she finishes knitting socks for all of Lionel’s friends, big and small.

Lionel helps to label the socks, and then they are all put safely in a big box for him.  He is ready to surprise his friends.

A Box of Socks

Poor Lionel is doing so well carrying a Box of Socks carefully to his friends when all of a sudden he gets a bit of a shock and drops the box – socks and labels go everywhere.  The socks are all jumbled up and labels are lost.  How will Lionel get the right socks to the right friends?

A Box of Socks teaches children about friendship and perseverance.  In the end, everyone ends up with the correct socks and even Little Lionel gets a nice surprise.  It’s a lovely tale priced at £6.99 (Amazon Affiliate link below for your reference).
