Project 365 2015 Week 28

Project 365 2015 Week 28

I’ve been joining in with Project 365 since the start of 2014, and been inspired by The Boy and Me to make sure I take a Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year!  Project 365 2015 Week 28 Days 186-192.

Sunday 5th July – Day 186

Project 365 2015 Week 28

The end of a great weekend at Silverstone with my brother and a first for us.  We joined the crowds on track to watch the podium celebrations.  We’d got right up to the barrier, front row, which was excellent until we decided we wanted to move, it was like being back at a Madonna concert at Wembley stadium in the 80’s.  We were going nowhere for a while.  It’s lovely to spend a bit of quality time together, something we only get to do during the Grand Prix weekend.  I was shattered when I got home and was in bed before Monkey again!

Monday 6th July – Day 187

Project 365 2015 Week 28

It had been a lovely weekend but I’d missed this little construction mad boy.  Whilst he was at school I went to my sewing class, one top nearly finished.  Picked up some fabric to make some seat cushions for my next project too.  After school, it was all just about watching Monkey doing what he does best – imaginative play.  Love it.

Tuesday 7th July – Day 188

Project 365 2015 Week 28

Transition day at school and I was dreading it.  We’d told Monkey on Friday night who his teacher would be and that his best friend wasn’t in the same class.  He took it better than expected and was eager to get to school.

When I picked him up he’d got 6 star stickers on his top and was full of all the fun he’d had.  He reeled off a list of people who would be in his class, and liked his teacher.  Time will tell if the reality of not being with G is more upsetting than at the moment.

Wednesday 8th July – Day 189

Project 365 2015 Week 28

Monkey went off to school and I went to Jado Chi.  When you have a digger obsessed son you do tend to get rather excited when you discover one parked in the car park!  The things you snap to put a smile on your childs face!

Thursday 9th July – Day 190

Project 365 2015 Week 28

It’s been an emotional rollercoaster here recently and I’m rather tired and longing for the summer holidays.  My heart sank as we arrived for Monkey’s swimming lesson to discover his teacher was on holiday.  I thought there would be tears, and a refusal to join in.  But after an initial wobble, Monkey got in the pool, PUT his goggles on, and took part in the whole lesson.  Blimey O’Reilly, I was amazed, speechless and so proud of him.  He was clearly loving being in the pool and all was good with the world.  Of course, I was still under strict instructions to remain parallel to his position in the pool at all times, but I can live with that.  I might get to join the other Mums and sit down by Christmas!

I really was in need of a good laugh, thankfully my NCT group were round in the evening for a curry and they helped me with a review I’m working on for Drumond Park.  We had a lovely evening, full of laughter and this photo of my friends N and J sums it up.  Good friends who have been there through good times and bad over the last six years.

Friday 10th July – Day 191

Project 365 2015 Week 28

We are on the final countdown – one week today and school will be out for summer!  I love the fact that Monkey loves books as much as he does.  He may not want to read them himself when he has a ‘slave’ at hand but he’s always got his head stuck in a book.  One day he’ll surprise me and decide that it really is ok for him to read him home books as well as his school books.  The sun’s out and today feels like a good day.  I’m not so exhausted and looking forward to the weekend.

Saturday 11th July – Day 192
Project 365 2015 Week 28

Iona from Redpeffer came down for the day with her son and the boys played mostly peacefully in the garden for the majority of the time.  Simple pleasures.  An ice cream cone treat after lunch before more digging, playing in tents and excavations in the sandpit.  Think the boys will both sleep well tonight.

  1. My little boy would have loved to see that digger! I think we would have been there for ages. The weekend at Silverstone sounds fun too.

  2. Hope transition day went well, it sounds like it did. Z is in a different school to his friend and I’m a bit worried how that will go. Hopefully he’ll just be distracted by new friends.

  3. Glad transition day went better than you expected. Hopefully he’ll be fine in his new class come next term.

  4. Glad you had such a good weekend with your brother, and that Monkey’s transition day went so well. Looks like you had a fun evening with you NCT friends 🙂

  5. Super round-up of a week gone by, lots of colourful events. We also had a transition day. Cannot wait for the school to end this week, really tired of all the school business.

  6. So glad the transition day went well. Monkey is certainly gaining in confidence!
I would have snapped the JCB too. What boy doesn’t like a digger?

  7. So glad Monkey’s transition day went well, he sounds like he is coming on leaps and bounds at the moment x

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
