Project 365 2015 Week 29

Project 365 2015 Week 29

I’ve been joining in with Project 365 since the start of 2014, and been inspired by The Boy and Me to make sure I take a Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year!  Project 365 2015 Week 29 Days 193-199.

Sunday 12th July – Day 193

Project 365 2015 Week 29

We’d been invited down to London for the new Thomas & Friends film premiere and decided to head off to the Science Museum afterwards.  We made sure not to accept a helium balloon as we left Leicester Square as we were turned away from the Museum the last time we tried to get in after an event.  Note – they do not like balloons, however securely fastened to bags that they may be.

Anyway, this time around all was good and Monkey loved the Space section which bodes well for a forthcoming trip.  He did make me chuckle when he asked me, quite seriously, if I’d been to the Moon.  Bless him.

Monday 13th July – Day 194

Project 365 2015 Week 29

I wasn’t feeling at all well, cancelled sewing class and spent the day with Brewster looking after me. Monkey had a good day at school and we’ve started the countdown to 3.15 on Friday!

Tuesday 14th July – Day 195

Project 365 2015 Week 29

Monkey’s school is celebrating its 20th birthday and there was a party for all the children today.  He was really excited as one of his friends Miss C was going to be jumping out of a birthday cake! I was feeling a bit fragile, but better than yesterday.  Time to enjoy the garden.

Wednesday 15th July – Day 196

Project 365 2015 Week 29

I wear contact lenses, have astigmatism and need vari-focals.  Getting old is not great when it comes to eyes!  My left lens does the vari-focal bit and they have been coming from the US – they don’t last a month and have been driving me mad.  So today I picked up some trial lenses – not designed for people with astigmatism but I’m going to trial them and see how I get on.  If they don’t split within a week or two I’ll live with any other issues!

I had a meeting after school with Monkey’s teacher.  I had concerns about the marking on his report and wanted to see what was being put in place to support him in September. The meeting was positive and hopefully their plans will encourage him to vocalise what we all believe is within him.  Time and patience will tell.

We came home and finished off his ‘good bye’ cards for his teacher and key workers. Tomorrow will be spent trying to persuade him to write in them.

Thursday 16th July – Day 197

Project 365 2015 Week 29

Monkey had a Summer Party at school and they got to take in water bottles to have a water fight.  He wasn’t too keen on getting wet himself but apparently he took great delight in soaking one of his key workers, who also happens to be a neighbour – oops!  He’d obviously had a great day, judging by his buoyant mood.  He actually wanted to get in the queue for swimming, and enjoyed his lesson.  He still has a long way to go, but he actually seems to be settling in to the new class.

When we got home it was time to play with some random Lego we’d received last week.  It arrived in rather a sorry state and a friend put it all through her dishwasher so we could actually play with it.  Cue one happy little boy.

Friday 17th July – Day 198

Project 365 2015 Week 29 Fri

The last day of Reception and it didn’t occur to me to take a photo, until I saw one by TheBoyandMe, hence the dirty after school uniform! He seemed to have had a lovely day, and came home with a new book from his teacher which we’ve read over and over this evening.

Saturday 18th July – Day 199

Project 365 2015 Week 29

I’d decided that the first day of the holidays would be all about chilling out.  We had breakfast in bed and have spent the day playing with Tiggly on the iPad and building lots of Lego creations.  The perfect way for a little boy to wind down after a busy year at school. Tonight we seem to have ear ache, a first for Monkey, but something Daddy P and his siblings all suffered from as children.  I’m really hoping this is a one-off – wish me luck.

  1. Eek! Good luck with the ear ache! Hope you’re feeling better too.
Isn’t it a great feeling that the school holidays are finally here? 🙂

  2. It was great to see you all at the cinema Mary! We loved the film. All the lego looks great, mine have had a play with theirs too and we’ve been using tiggly too! Lol! 😉

  3. Ah last day of Reception, bless his heart. Did you manage to get him to write in those cards? Isn’t it always the way that when they finish school, they start feeling ill? Shame. Hope you’re feeling better too. x

  4. I must remember to do a photo of end of nursery as well. We’ve had ‘end of term’ and leavers party at one, he missed graduation at the other because it wasn’t a day he goes to that one, but he’ll be at both over the summer holidays anyway.

Boo to earache, hope it’s fleeting. Our Lego was ok if totally random. It’s still been played with though – N’s turning into more of a Lego fan now. Although trying to get him to have a go with the new Tiggly we’ve got is harder said than done. He liked the maths one, but hasn’t tried the words one yet. Going to take it camping and hope the wifi is strong enough to play it.

  5. Good job we didn’t go to the museum then, we had three of those balloons attached to the buggy! Love the handprints

  6. It sounds like Monkey had a really fun last week at school, I am very jealous as E doesn’t break up until Wednesday! Love those thank you cards, such a lovely idea.

  7. lets hope the ear ache has settled and is a one off or it can impact on his swimming.
Glad you have aired your concerns with the teacher now, saves you worrying about it over the holidays. I remember reading about the lego saga, but it seems to have been sorted, a terrible way for such a big company to behave.
I like the handprint cards, much nicer than a bought one.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
