Project 365 2015 Week 30

Project 365 2015 Week 30

I’ve been joining in with Project 365 since the start of 2014, and been inspired by The Boy and Me to make sure I take a Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year!  Project 365 2015 Week 30 Days 200-206.

Sunday 19th July – Day 200

Project 365 2015 Week 30

Monkey was complaining of ear ache which was a first.  We met a friend from Spain for lunch and went to The Trout at Wolvercote (famous as an often used location in Morse). The food was nice but Monkey wasn’t quite right.  When we got home he fell asleep on my bed – unusual to say the least.

Monday 20th July – Day 201

Project 365 2015 Week 30

Monkey and I headed to Cambridge for a three-day adventure.  We checked into our hotel and then walked into the city.  My little man was fascinated by the punting and really wanted to go on one himself.  That was right up until the ‘punter’ was about to start our trip.  Then he changed his mind in no uncertain terms.  Oh well! Best laid plans and all that!  He still wasn’t 100% and we were in for a bumpy ride in the next 24 hours!

Tuesday 21st July – Day 202

Project 365 2015 Week 30

After a rocky night Monkey seemed much brighter this morning, so we headed off as planned to spend the day at IWM Duxford.  We had a lovely time looking at the various planes on display and seeing some tanks.  Little did I know what was to follow a couple of hours after this photo was taken.  Monkey suffered from a perforated eardrum and after a few rather stressful hours I decided to cut our break short and we headed home, arriving just after 10pm.  Monkey was fast asleep and I was an emotional wreck!

Wednesday 22nd July – Day 203

Project 365 2015 Week 30

I have to be honest, taking a photograph today was the last thing on my mind, so I snapped Brewster on my way to bed.  Thankfully the penicillin gave instant relief to Monkey and he was a different child this morning, but we were both absolutely shattered.

Thursday 23rd July – Day 204

Project 365 2015 Week 30

Getting better and more like his old self, we spent the day on a mission – we were Lego building all day.  It was just what we both needed, quiet, quality time together at home. No swimming lessons unfortunately due to the ear situation, the first available non emergency appointment with Monkey’s doctor is next Friday, so no lesson next week either.

Lots of activity next door – I think we might have a new resident in the road!  Looking forward to some baby cuddles soon.

Friday 24th July – Day 205

Project 365 2015 Week 30

You have no idea how lovely it is to see that smile again.  It’s 6 years ago today we lost Daddy P’s father, just 4 and half months before Monkey was born.  Time has flown by, I hope Monkey’s namesake would be proud of his Grandson.

It poured down with rain all day today, but we needed some fresh air, so we donned our waterproofs and wellies and headed into the garden for a snail hunt – we found loads.

Saturday 25th July – Day 206

Project 365 2015 Week 30

With all our Lego building this week, we decided that we really needed a proper sized base plate to aid future creations.  With this in mind we popped into town to pick one up from Argos.  Monkey got to try out his new Superfit Gore-tex summer shoes for the first time. I’d promised Monkey we could visit the local World of Water to see the fish but the whole area had had a power cut and all the shops were shut.  We headed home, made up some more Lego, had lunch and then headed out into the sunshine for a scooter ride to our local nature reserve.  Sunshine, what a difference a day makes, and Monkey seems so much better – phew!

  1. Oh gosh poor Monkey. It’s a good job penicillin works so quickly. Good to see him smiling again.

  2. Sounds like a tough week – poor Monkey! (And poor you – it’s never easy when the kids are ill.)
How lovely that he is named after his grandfather, but how sad that they never got to meet.

  3. Glad Monkey is a lot better now, ear aches are horrid and sounds like you had some nice quiet time together in the meantime. I absolutely love his Marvel bag.

  4. So sorry about monkeys ear. Poor mite! Pleased he is better now though. I love his Marvel case. Very cool! The punting shot in Cambridge looks fab, sorry you didn’t get to do it.

  5. glad he is feeling better now, horrible when they are poorly isn’t it, I’ve had a poorly toddler since Friday 🙁 seems like you made the best of the week though x

  6. awwww poor Monkey that sounds like a bad start to your week, and perforated ear drums must be sp painful 🙁 but I am happy to read that he is on the mend now. I know a 6 year old boy who would love that Marvel bag – how cool!
such a shame he never met his Grandad – I was lucky that mine met both of mine. xx

  7. So sorry you’ve had such a rubbish start to the holidays – lovely to see Monkey’s smiles return by the end of the week and I hope they continue xx

  8. Oh poor little thing, eardrums and ear infections are horrible and impact on little ones so much! As you know, The Boy has many every Winter and it is horrendous and tiring. I hope he’s fully recovered soon.

  9. Poor Monkey, what a stressful week (for you all). Hope he’s on the mend. Loving his Marvel bag. Will Monkey be able to take it to school? We are only allowed the bags with the school logo.

  10. thank goodness Monkey feels better, thankfully the pain usually subsides once the ear perforates. It stinks that you cannot get a GP appt, ours always have appointments any day we phone.
The Lego building sounds like fun, and shame about the power cuts

  11. Gosh, how awful for you both (just read your full post on the ear infection). Hope that Monkey is fully recovered now x

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
