What the Ladybird Heard Next

We are huge fans of Julia Donaldson in this house, and Monkey loves What the Ladybird Heard so much that I took him to see a production of it in Aylesbury last year.  It’s a book we read over and over again, so imagine our delight when this arrived through our letterbox recently!  What the Ladybird Heard Next is published on 10th September 2015 and is bound to be another huge success for Donaldson.

What the Ladybird Heard Next

As soon as Monkey saw this book, he was eager for me to read it to him.  He was slightly confused to discover that Lanky Len and Hefty Hugh were no longer in prison.  The concept that people do actually get released from prison had totally escaped him.  But once we’d discussed that issue we were back to What the Ladybird Heard Next, to find out what they were planning and whether the Ladybird would be the hero of the hour again.

So are the dastardly duo after the prize cow again?  No, it would appear not.  This time their target is the Fat Red Hen and her eggs!

Lydia Monks again provides the wonderful illustrations and fans will be pleased to hear that the glitter makes a comeback too.

The story is beautifully written as you would expect and without wishing to ruin the ending, no good can ever come of stealing.

What the Ladybird Heard Next has been a big hit here, and we’ve read this hardback book countless times over the last few weeks.  Priced at £11.99, I’ve just noticed that you can actually pre-order on Amazon for the bargain price of £5.99!  I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link for you below.

About Over 40 and a Mum to One

A Mum with a 9 year old son, enjoying life and having fun as my son travels through school life. We love to get outdoors whenever possible and make the most of the world around us. We have a cat called Brewster who makes appearances and I’m a mad Ferrari Formula 1 fan, so that expect to hear about as each season unfolds. We love reviewing days out, toys, games and books and would love the opportunity to look at anything that fits in with our family lifestyle. We are always out and about and offering an insight on the places we visit, with a passion for nature thrown in for good measure.
