George at ASDA #GettingCoolForSchool

One supermarket I wish we had nearer is definitely ASDA.  Last year I bought all of Monkey’s PE kit from our nearest shop in Milton Keynes and it lasted really well.  I now that George at ASDA offers great value for money but look what we managed to get with £50!  Monkey’s been getting cool for school and having some after school fun too.

I was really spoilt for choice when I looked at the George at ASDA website and Monkey really is well kitted out for life in Year One now.  From a new water bottle, to school trousers, right through to trainers for PE.  He is certainly getting cool for school.

To be fair he was making use of the trainer socks before he’d even gone back to school. They were an instant hit and have been worn on many an adventure already. With regards to shoes, trainers and plimsolls, Monkey had just been measured at a 12.5 before we looked at the George at ASDA school range.  They only work in full sizes, so at the moment Monkey has a little bit of growing to do before these size 13’s will fit him properly.  He felt the shoes were too big, but felt happier in his trainers.  It didn’t stop him trying them out recently and having some after school fun.  He was really impressed with the trainers as he’s never owned a pair before and will need them for outdoors PE at school this year.

I was really impressed with the quality of the shoes, trainers and plimsolls, they appear well made and have a comfy fit.  Monkey has certainly enjoyed wearing his new trainers out and about after school in the last week.

Monkey really needed a new backpack for school and George at ASDA have a great range, I thought he would go with a Spiderman option, but no, he was adamant – I want that red one Mummy.  Well as you can see it’s a little too big for him at the moment, not that he’s particularly bothered.  He loves it and I’m super impressed with it too.  For £8 it’s good quality, has a padded back and straps and lots of storage space, including a mesh holder for his new school water bottle and Star Wars themed snack pot. I’ve been employed as his personal bag carrier when we’ve been out after school this last week, and I think we’ll be investing in another one of these bags for me to use as it’s so handy.

His new white t-shirts will be used in PE this term, I’ve used George at ASDA t-shirts before for PE and they always wash and wear well. He has a set of vests to keep him warm at school over the winter months too.  We ordered his trousers in age 6-7 and they are a little long right now, but at the rate he’s growing they will hopefully see him through many happy school days in the terms ahead.  From previous experience I’ve found that these again, well wear, and if they can withstand a year in Reception, I’m sure these will last him in Year One.

For £50 we really do have Year One covered thanks to George at ASDA and Monkey is officially #GettingCoolForSchool!

  1. I wish we had an Asda nearer us. It’s a bit of a trek to Leamington, and I always forget about buying direct. Not great if I then need to return things, and with minimum spend.

You’re lucky PE shirts can be plain. We have to have school t shirts, although I did get away with buying cheap football shorts from another uniform supplier which was cheaper than ours!

You certainly got a lot for your money.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
