With it being Monkey’s birthday next month, I really do like to be organised for Christmas well in advance. With a houseful of chocoholics, it’s the perfect time for some indulgence and we’ve been trying out some Christmas chocolates delights from Hotel Chocolat. It’s a hard job, but someone’s got to do it, right?!
Our Christmas chocolates delights from Hotel Chocolat contain an Advent Calendar filled with milk chocolate delights which Daddy P took great delight in testing for us, Christmas Mess Selector, Nutmeg Almond Praline Selector, Caramel Chocolate Pot Selector and a pack of Ho Ho Ho dark chocolate Santas.
The Advent Calendar from Hotel Chocolat is available in White, Dark or Milk Chocolate with 24 chocolates priced at £12.50. There is also a Truffles version for 2 to share for £26.00 which sounds rather devine.
There are 7 different Christmas themed chocolates within the calendar, all made of 40% milk chocolate. Daddy P loves milk chocolate and has reliably informed me that these chocolates are delicious. I’ve given him instructions to ensure a dark chocolate version is available for me come 1st December!
The various Selector pack offer some tasty delights too. Praline and Caramel are two of my favourite kinds of chocolates so I was looking forward to trying the Caramel Chocolate Pot and Nutmeg Almond Praline selections out for myself. Let me tell you that neither packs lasted long. The Caramel Chocolate Pots are my favourite, full of flavoursome caramel with a hint of salt. Yum! The nutmeg in the Nutmeg Almond Praline really heightens the taste sensation and another hit with me.
I’m not a fan of white chocolate personally, so I passed the Christmas Mess selection over to Daddy P for a taste test. He went very quiet, taking his duties seriously. He liked these a lot apparently. The cranberries work really well with the white chocolate and were a big hit with him.
Each of the Selector sets mentioned contain 6 chocolates priced at £3.75 per pack.
In my heart I’m a dark chocolate lover. Always my first pick in any selection box. So I’ve taken the Ho Ho Ho dark chocolate Santas all for myself! You can also buy this set in milk chocolate, both contain 3 individually wrapped chocolate Santas, priced at £2.50. The dark chocolate ones contain a minimum of 70% cocoa solids and they really do taste devine. Sorry guys but I’m not sharing mine!
