The summer days are behind us and Monkey will be Stepping into Winter with GORE-TEX and his new Viking Eagle II boots.
I knew Monkey would love these boots are soon as I opened the box. Black is a perfect colour for the winter months and will look great with his autumn and winter coats. The boots have a heavy-duty nylon upper with a thick rubber sole for icy mornings and comes with a lovely suede finish. The GORE-TEX membrane will keep Monkey’s feet dry no matter what the weather, whilst also letting his feet breath.
What doesn’t come out in the photos is the wool blend lining, I noticed then when I was removing the packaging. Monkey’s toes will feel toasty warm this winter, which will be very handy if we do get the really harsh winter that’s been forecast.
The laces are elasticated which works really well with a nearly 6 year old Monkey. The tops are secured with velcro straps and Monkey has been easily able to put these boots on and take them off by himself.
We went for a size 13 as there are no half sizes available, but they fit securely and Monkey has found them really comfortable to wear. There have been no signs of rubbing either, which is always a relief.
Monkey’s been getting ready to step into Winter with GORE-TEX and his new Viking boots, and they’ve already walked a few miles going for walks in the local area,
learning about the canal system and how locks work on a recent trip to Banbury,
and whilst driving around at the Heritage Motor Museum last weekend.
His new boots are a firm favourite already and I’m sure they’ll be joining us on more adventures in the months to come. Where will you spot them next?

They look like a really nice pair of boots.
