You may have noticed that Monkey has a new gadget – his Vtech DigiGo, which he loves.
He’s got an Innotab which he’s had for a couple of years now, but that’s always been something he’s been happy to play with in the living room. But I’ve noticed that the DigiGo has started to creep into the kitchen at mealtimes. Uum. It’s made me look at myself and realise that I often have my phone on the table too. So it’s time to lead by example – from now on, there are to be no gadgets welcome at our table during mealtimes.
I also don’t want Monkey to spend all his time after school glued to a device, so we are giving him a time limit from the start, and I’ve also agreed to use my phone less to check emails etc whilst he’s up. It’s a bloggers worst habit, and I am rather attached to my phone. So I think this new house rule will help us both and really give us quality time together.
Now we’re only just starting out on Monkey’s gadget journey, technology is still a novel idea here, so I don’t have any stories to share about Monkey’s techno errors on the funny/not so funny things that can happen when the kids get hold of your phone or tablet. But to be in with a chance of winning a Vtech DigiGo I’d love to hear your stories! Just complete the Rafflecopter form below and a random winner will be selected. Please make sure to use #DigiGoetiquette in your blog comment. Good luck!

Not so much a funny story, but my two year old was playing a counting game on my ipad, and suddenly ran up the garden with it, I ran after him and said hand it to Mommy – and he dropped it straight on the floor – onto the concrete – I was devastated but not as much as seeing his little worried and heartbroken face!!!! 🙁
Deleted half of my pictures ://
my little girl, who is 4, plays with my cousins phone quite alot and last month, when she got her phone bill, it was £65 instead of £25, due to the amount of purchases my daughter had made on it without us knowing!!!! safe to say she hasn’t played on it since haha 🙂 #DigiGoetiquette
Where do I start, he has deleted all of my apps, moved them about, called people and sent text messages, he has dropped it, and deleted important notes, ( note to self put a pincode on my phone) #DigiGoetiquette

My son called 999 when he was five. We just come back from holiday and I was kneeling in the hallway over a large pile of dirty washing when two policemen burst through my front door. Apparently, he had been whispering on the phone and the emergency operator couldn’t tell what he was saying so she sent the police. When the police arrived they could see me though the frosted glass door and thought I was hovering over a body! They left after a good look around my house and a few stern words for my boy.
I was mortified!!

I’ve learnt this from the best my little man loves going on my phone pretending he’s on the phone and watching videos on YouTube, he’s actually ended up smashing my phone screen and we had a whopping bill of £40 of the apps he’s ‘accidentally’ bought, we often find a few cheeky selfies on there too, he would have so much fun with this thanks so much for the chance 🙂 #DigiGoetiquette
#DigiGoetiquette – My son phoned grandma wheen he was little and she thought there was an emergency!
I know when my kids have had the phone as I find a whole heap of blurry random pics of the kids eyes, noses, hands, feet, toys etc. about 100 blurry pics!
The worst is accidentally signing up for stuff like £4.50 text messages (luckily my phone has a limiter on the account so it can’t go over the monthly allowance – put on to stop this kind of accident!) I also have had one child go bidding on stuff on eBay because my account was left logged in! He won one item which luckily I got cancelled!

#DigiGoetiquette One of my grandchildren picked up my phone and when it suddenly started to ring with a loud bell he dropped it and ran and hid in his bedroom. He thought he had set off an alarm and the police would come. He was all right after I reassured him he was not in trouble. He leaves it alone now.
#DigiGoetiquette my friends 13month old son amazed me with sitting on the floor and finding ‘mickey’ on the fone and then resetting it again when the short film had finished. such fine hand dexterity for that age I was amazed.
My son painted my phone which I’d left on the table whilst going to the toilet..
Oh, countless selfies of their foreheads or their feet, that never gets old.
However explaining to my friends on Facebook why they sometimes get messages along the lines of “kcmxz,z.,m.,./.dflaw,/.z,.z,\./,./sa,c./\awlk;” every other day very much does get old!
I MUST LOG OUT WHEN I’M NOT USING IT! Oh, #DigiGoetiquette
