How to be a Cowboy

How to be a Cowboy

When I was a kid it was all the rage to play Cowboys and Indians, and my brother used to delight in scaring me to death with the bang of his cap gun. Western films were popular and we as children were all so innocent of the history behind our games.  Times have changed but there is still a lot to be learnt about these kings of the rodeo.  In How to be a Cowboy, Monkey has been learning about Cowboy country, where they live, and what they where.

How to be a Cowboy

How to be a Cowboy is a lovely hardback book, written by Alice V Lickens which was published through Pavilion Books earlier this month.  The book is crammed full of everything a budding cowboy or cowgirl could need to know to become a fully fledged lasso throwing, horse back riding hero.

We have friends who have recently moved to Texas so Monkey was rather impressed that they live in Cowboy country.  He’s learnt about cowboy boots and ranches and all about the Texan Longhorn cattle.  As well as lots of facts, and some lovely illustrations the How to be a Cowboy handbook contains stickers and a cardboard paper cowboy doll to dress up. I think Monkey’s favourite part of the book was folding out the recipe pages and finding out how to make Sock Coffee!

Priced at £9.99 How to be a Cowboy is a fun read and I’m sure any self-respecting cow hand would like to find this in their Christmas stocking.  I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link below for your reference.
