We visited Waddesdon Manor last Sunday. It’s a firm family favourite, a beautiful house to admire and grounds to explore. As Monkey wandered around collecting sticks, I looked up.
A single, solitary leaf, the last man standing. I stood and stared and wondered. How long until that last leaf falls to the ground and winter truly descends?
It looks like a pretty determined leaf, it’s still green! I’m not looking forward to the cold weather but I’m excited about family time 🙂
What a lovely photo. I’ve been wondering that too! We’ve got about four leaves left on the tree on our front garden (unless they fell overnight!).
With the wind so strong today, I dun think it stand much chance!
We had loads of leaves on lots of our local trees, especially the hazels …. until this weekend and I am not sure many will survive the wind and rain we are now having! But it does mean we can now see the baby catkins 🙂 #MySundayPhoto
The wind and rain have probably insured that this leave is no more too now.
What a fab shot of the last leaf on the tree, it still looks so vibrant too!
It’s like the final stand of Autumn fighting off Winter
Thank you for linking up
What an interesting capture. Love this time of the year x
