Project 365 2015 Week 52

Project 365 2015 Week 52

I’ve been joining in with Project 365 since the start of 2014, and been inspired by The Boy and Me to make sure I take a Photo A Day, Every Day, For A Year! Project 365 2015 Week 52 Days 354-365. The end of my second year with this project!

Sunday 20th December – Day 354

Project 365 2015 Week 52

I had a very chilled out day.  Daddy P and Monkey had a boys shopping trip so I caught up with a bit of cross stitch in the day light.  When they got home we headed to Pizza Express for a dinner treat with some vouchers that needed using up before the end of the year.

Monday 21st December – Day 355

Project 365 2015 Week 52

Only I could start the final run up to Christmas with a trip to the dentist and two small fillings in my wisdom teeth.  Joy!  I picked up our turkey and a couple of additional items for the Christmas Eve box and headed home.  Today was all about chilling out.  We spent our time watching Fireman Sam, Thomas and Moomins films and then made some Christmas Chocolates.

I had some bad news about my Great Auntie in the afternoon which has left us all worrying about her condition and hoping that she will be ok.  She’s the last of her generation and a wonderful lady, but she’s 94 and not as strong as she once was.

Tuesday 22nd December – Day 356

Project 365 2015 Week 52

Monkey and I headed to Derbyshire to see my best friend.  It was meant to be a day trip, but Monkey really wanted a sleepover, so luckily Auntie A obliged.  They have a very special bond and he was so excited to see her.  We had a lovely day catching up on news, I’d forgotten what a wriggler Monkey is in bed though, and a duvet nicker!

Wednesday 23rd December – Day 357

Project 365 2015 Week 52

After breakfast we left Auntie A and headed home, Monkey is now pretty much counting down the hours until Santa arrives.  Got home to a message that my Great Auntie is doing well and was walking in the ward after major surgery this week.  She is amazing and I’m so thankful that the happiness is back in our family Christmas now.

I made some mince pies we watched a few Christmas DVD’s together. Our new neighbours bought a present round for Monkey, which was totally unexpected and a lovely surprise.

Monkey had announced to Auntie A that he’d written a letter to Father Christmas at school asking for a reindeer.  This was news to me, and actually the first thing that Monkey has actually asked for.  Cue panic stations, some googling and a few hours in the evening sifting through Monkey’s Lego to make a Rudolph Reindeer!

Thursday 24th December – Day 358

Project 365 2015 Week 52

Christmas Eve and time for Berry the Elf to return to the North Pole to report back to Father Christmas.  Monkey dictated a letter to Santa and we left it for Berry to hand deliver.  Daddy P finished work in time to join us at the Crib Service at Church.  When we returned Berry and his Elf Door had disappeared, and left Monkey a bundle of goodies and some much-needed Reindeer food to sprinkle in the garden.

We watched Monkey’s PNP video – had he made it to the nice list?

One highly excited little boy headed for bed, and we prepared for the day ahead.

Friday 25th December – Day 359

Project 365 2015 Week 52

Christmas Day – the boy who never wakes up early was up at 5.30!  I managed to persuade him to get into bed and sleep with me for another hour before he checked his Santa stocking. Then the present unwrapping began and we Skyped Spain so Granny and Gramps could see Monkey open his Radio Controlled Ferrari from them.  He was over the moon with that and the Playmobil Plane, Control Tower and Cargo station he received. The day was spent flying to and from Spain.

It was lovely to just watch his imagination take over.

Saturday 26th December – Day 360

Project 365 2015 Week 52

Boxing Day and a quiet day spent at home with the inaugural Oxfordshire Grand Prix. Ferrari were a dead cert to finish on the top spot of the podium.

Sunday 27th December – Day 361

Project 365 2015 Week 52

We were spending some time at my brothers and the plan had been to go for a walk in the country.  Someone forgot to tell the weather though, so he got my nephew’s Hornby train set out to keep Monkey amused.

I’ve been so relaxed today I almost forgot to take any photos – lucky I’d got some flowers to snap to save the day!

Monday 28th December – Day 362

Project 365 2015 Week 52

We’d had no firm plans and when I heard that the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre had a family open day which was free for kids we headed over.  It’s close to where we live and somewhere we’ve visited on a number of occasions over the years.  Normally we take a picnic but decided to get food there this time.  Bad mistake – over an hour queuing for food, not to be recommended.  Luckily we all enjoyed the rest of the event but I was feeling really cold by the time we got home and just couldn’t warm up.

Tuesday 29th December – Day 363

Project 365 2015 Week 52

We were all feeling a bit off today, Daddy P ended up back in bed rather than going to work and Monkey and I headed to Stowe for an hour to get some fresh air.  He really does love it there.

Wednesday 30th December – Day 364

Project 365 2015 Week 52

We changed our plans and stayed at home.  I’m so thankful we did as the wind and rain here has been rather fierce. We opened up Monkey’s new set of Aqua Dragons and of course he expected them to appear instantly.  We’ve had a very chilled out day, reading lots of books and playing games.

Thursday 31st December – Day 365

Project 365 2015 Week 52

New Years Eve – the end of another year.  I wonder what 2016 has in store for us.  I’m feeling a bit under the weather this morning so not sure that there will be any late night celebrations here.  Monkey is fuelling up on marmite on toast and drawing pictures of a solar eclipse, as you do!

Hoping everyone enjoys today and wishing you all peace and prosperity in 2016.

  1. Sorry to hear about your Aunt, I hope she’s ok and on the mend. It’s hard with older loved ones, when they get ill.
    Love the red racing car!
Happy New Year! Thank you for hosting!

  2. Lovely festive photos, Monkey looks so happy and relaxed. You must have been so worried about your Great Auntie, glad to hear that she’s a trooper and is on the mend. Here’s to another year of photos! Happy new year to you, Monkey and Daddy P!

  3. Lovely pictures, from what sounds like a lovely Christmas. I hope that your great auntie is ok now and that her health has improved. The picture of the flower is beautiful. Happy new year to you all x #project365

  4. Sounds like it was a good Christmas holiday period and good to get out and about. I never think of national trust over Christmas, I just assume it’s all shut. But it has been blustery to go out in.

    Hope 2016’s a good one.

  5. Hope your Great Aunt is continuing to recover well. Looks like you’ve had a lovely time over Christmas, lots of happy photos 🙂 Wishing you a very happy new year x

  6. Glad your Aunt is feeling better, and sorry to read you are not, must be bad for hubby to stay off work.
Lots of nice days out and nice to catch up with Auntie A, I hated sharing a bed with wriggly duvet nicking kids.
Love the look on his face as he awaits the emergence of the dragons.
Happy New Year to you and yours from me and mine
