  1. The internet – so much info out there and the ability to communicate, shop, socialise etc is fantastic! It does have its disadvantages though!

  2. The computer as so versatile and comes in handy for all sorts of things especially kid’s homework

  3. Probably the internet as it brings people together ,supplies info at the touch of a button and helps my daughter with her home education….also electricity was a pretty good invention too!☺

  4. It has to be the internet, Communicating to people all over the world, so much information at the click of a button.

  5. When I was younger I would have said the TV, now I would say the automatic washer I don’t fancy going down to the stream to wash my clothes again. lol

  6. Probably the mobile phone, although it can be a bit annoying being able to be found all of the time!

  7. I am saying the Internet as well, it has made my life a lot easier, you can find anything you want at the click of a button.

  8. I have to say the Internet because it has revolutionised the world within my lifetime and changed the landscape of relationships between people groups and countries!!

  9. The washing machine! It’s such a time saver – I can’t imagine scrubbing all our laundry for hours each week

  10. The Photocopier. You can copy photos, documents etc Very useful to share photos and prove matters in disputes as you have kept your own copy..

  11. The internet as you can stay in touch with family and friends that are thousands of miles away at the touch of a button.

  12. I’m gonna be terribly un-PC and say the microwave oven…it’s a godsend to me as I just can’t cook 😉

  13. Indoor plumbing, I can’t imagine life without it. I don’t know how my Grandmother managed 4 kids without it.

  14. The telephone because you can speak to family/friends that are on the other side of the world just by pressing a few buttons 🙂

  15. Definitely electricity as I’m lost when we get a power cut. No light, tv, Internet, fridge, Chargers.

  16. Sliced bread. Maybe someone will come up with a saying or something when they finally realise the importance of this invention!

  17. The wheel. If weren’t for the wheel (such as cogs first used in mechanical computers), and the automobiles that made it easier for bright minds to gather together from great distances to invent it, there’d be no Internet.

  18. If i’m putting my slightly less than serious hat on – TOAST. Come on – it’s a work of genius. Who thought ‘this bread is cooked… let’s cook it again and turn it into something even better!’ Genius.

Really though – the telephone. Long distance communication changed the world.

  19. Sliced Bread. Noone can cut the unsliced loafs straight. They either end up wafer thin or like doorstops.

  20. Electricity it’s transformed the way we live and the great and evolving technology today would not have existed without it

  21. The Steam Engine – they powered factories, trains and steamships which allowed for the rapid growth of a global market

  22. I’m tempted to say the internet because of the massive impact it has had on virtually every part of our lives but it doesn’t work without electricity and not much else does, either, so it’s electricity for me.

  23. I think the microwave, because it has completely revolutionised cooking and made things much easier/quicker/more energy efficient!

  24. Electricity because you realise when you have a power cut that the majority of other inventions are dependent on it

  25. The Internet is the best invention of all time. It’s a great way to keep in contact with friends and family, shop online and do research.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
