Project 366 2016 Week 4

Catching up with family and friends, a trip to Toy Fair and another wobbly tooth, new glasses, website issues and sunshine at Waddesdon Manor! Project 366 2016 Week 4 with The Boy and Me.

Sunday 24th January – Day 24

Project 366 2016 Week 4

We popped down to see one of my Dad’s cousins for the day.  It was lovely to catch up on all the family news and as she normally always cooks for us, we decided to take her out for Sunday lunch instead.  We had a lovely meal at the White Bear in Ruislip, can recommend it, if you’re ever in the area.

Afterwards we looked through some old family photos and she even found a postcard my granny had sent her in 1941, before my Dad was even born!

Monday 25th January – Day 25

Project 366 2016 Week 4

It’s that time of year again!  I persuaded Daddy P to take charge of the school run, so I could catch an earlier train down to London to visit Toy Fair at Olympia.  I really could do with having a full day down there, but I juggled the time as best I could, and met up with brands old and new, and hope to have a few exciting things to share with you all in the months to come.

I got off the train to Monkey running down the platform, shouting out how much he’d missed me and giving me the biggest hug ever.  It was one of ‘those’ moments.  He then handed me a pipe cleaner heart he’d made me and told me he’d got a new wobbly tooth. So we are now on Tooth 2 wobble watch!

Tuesday 26th January – Day 26

Project 366 2016 Week 4

This little monster had a night out on the town last night and hasn’t budged from the hot spot by the radiator all day.  Not sure what’s going on with Monkey today, but he really didn’t want to go to school – tears, tantrums and general morning meltdowns.  I felt rather like Brewster myself, shattered after a busy day in London yesterday, productivity levels not at their best.

Wednesday 27th January – Day 27

Project 366 2016 Week 4

Monkey seemed a little happier to go to school this morning thankfully.  I’d decided to give Jado Chi a miss today as my back is still niggling so I headed into town to buy a photo frame for a project I’ve started.  Home to deal with a few call centres – always a joy, not! and before I knew it is was time to meet Monkey at school.

We were heading out for dinner with my friend L and her son, who we haven’t seen since before Christmas.  Monkey was really chilled out and not his normal shy self at all.  In fact, he was talking at 10 miles to the gallon from the minute we met up in the car park.  My friend was quite amazed at the difference in him.  Yep, he’s growing up super fast.  The boys compared gaps in their teeth.  C is 6 months older than Monkey and has just lost his third tooth!

Thursday 28th January – Day 28

Project 366 2016 Week 4

A morning spent catching up with some work before I headed off to pick up my varifocal glasses.  Feel a bit like a robot at the moment as I work out where I need to place my head to see things at different distances.  Monkey had a good day at school and was full of fun when I picked him up.

The girls came over for a curry, our first get together of the year, so lovely to catch up on everyone’s news.

Friday 29th January – Day 29

Project 366 2016 Week 4

Today has not gone to plan.  When I went to bed in the early hours, I made the mistake of checking my emails – there was one from Google telling me that my site was being treated as Spam.  So I went to sleep knowing I’d got problems to sort.  Once I’d dropped Monkey off at school, a couple of ideas were offered as what the issue is, and after talking to someone on the Google forum, it would appear I have some major issues on the blog and it was suggested I need to change Theme’s.  This is not the news a non techie blogger needs. I’m now hoping a lady with far more knowledge than I can sort me out – fingers crossed.

On a happier note, Monkey got 9 out of 9 in his spelling test (officially called a spelling quiz – has the world gone mad!), super impressed as not all of the words were even on this weeks list.

Saturday 30th January – Day 30

Waddesdon Manor in January

We had a bit of a lazy start to the day when it looked as if we were in for a rainy day. But the sun decided to make an appearance, so once Monkey had done his spellings, we got dressed, put out wellies and waterproofs on and headed over to Waddesdon Manor for a few hours.  It was really quiet when we arrived, and it felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves at times – magical.  It wasn’t long before Monkey found some sticks to keep him company on our adventures.

We’ve got a busy day in Birmingham lined up for tomorrow. How are you spending your weekend?

  1. That’s a lovely picture of Monkey at the end 🙂 Sorry to hear about your problems with your blog. Like you, I’m non-techie and this would terrify you. I would definitely have to get someone to sort it out for me!
Love the bright picture of all the characters at Toy Fair.

  2. Sounds like it has been a busy week – love the photo from the Toy Fair and the one of Monkey at Waddesdon Manor. Hope you manage to get things sorted out with your blog – I have to admit I wouldn’t have a clue what to do either if something like that happened to me.

  3. We also had a slow start today, convinced it was going to rain so we didn’t head out until this afternoon. I’m not techie at all either so blog issues scare me! I hope you get them sorted soon. x

  4. That bottom photo of your son with the sticks is gorgeous, and don’t worry about the sticks because I don’t think boys ever lose interest in them. Your cat looks gorgeous, bet he’s soothing to stroke.

Thanks for linking up to Project 366.

  5. I’m also a non techie blogger so panic at the slightest issue! The toy fair sounds immense although all those people dressed up would unnerve me – I wouldn’t be happy at Disney land! The meal out and curry in sounds like a great – must do both more x

  6. Hope you manage to sort things out with the blog – it’s always a worry isn’t it? Sounds like a busy week – I have been exhausted just reading people’s posts about the toy fair.

  7. I’d just give up if i was having blog issues, i have a very good friend who i message and comes to the rescue every time, can’t sort it myself, sounds like you had a lovely day at the toy fair, look forward to seeing what you’re up to with the photo frame

  8. Hope the blog errors get sorted out soon. I thought you are using a standard wordpress theme so you wouldn’t expect that to go wrong.

Well done Monkey on the spellings test

  9. I really wanted to go to the Toy Fair but couldn’t make it on the weekend, then I was working on Monday and had to go into school with my twins on Tuesday! Your cat is adorable, so fluffy! Well done to Monkey for his spellings, very proud moment i bet! And love the glasses x

  10. Sounds like a busy week! The toy fair sounds like it was great fun, bet it was nice to have a few hours to yourself too. Hope you are getting somewhere with your Google issue?
