It’s no big secret that I have a tractor loving fanatic here. For as long as I can remember Monkey has adored tractors in all shapes, sizes and colours. He was thrilled with a recent delivery of Britains Tractors and Pig Pen Set for a number of reasons.
The Britains range of farm vehicles and accessories from Tomy UK are great quality and very realistic. The brand has certainly been a firm family favourite over the last 3 years as Monkey’s love of all things mechanical has grown.
One of the first books Monkey ever received was a My 1st JCB Freddie Fastrac board book. It was the start of a love affair with the JCB Fastrac Tractor that has flourished over the years and I knew the new Britains 1:32 scale JCB Fastrac 4220 would be an instant hit with him.
It’s a great likeness for the full size JCB Fastrac 4220, made from die-cast metal and durable plastic. It also includes front steering and moveable side mirror columns. The front and read hitches will work with most other 1:32 scales accessories which has also been rather popular here.
Monkey and his new JCB Fastrac 4220 have been inseparable over the last few weeks. But a bit like the super fast full size tractor, getting a shot with the two of them that isn’t blurred as they’ve zoomed past has been a bit of a challenge!
Priced at £19.99 the new addition to the Britains range is suitable for children aged 3 years and over and will be well-loved by any tractor mad child. Monkey is certainly very much in love with his.
We have a number of different tractor models in this house as you can imagine, but the Case Optum 300 CVX Tractor is our first Case. It’s a slightly larger beast but no less wonderful in the eyes of my connoisseur.
The Case Optum 300 CVX is also to 1.32 scaling with front and rear hitches that will work with accessories in the same size. Made from die-cast metal and durable plastic this particular tractor has something special to offer the tractor fan – it’s driver’s cab is detachable! Although Monkey has told me that the weather just isn’t good enough to make full use of this feature at the moment!
The detailing on this tractor is superb, as you would expect from the Britains range. As with the Fastrac 422, this tractor is suitable for children aged 3 years and over and is priced at £19.99. It’s another big hit here.
My living room is often turned into a farm or agricultural show ground so the new Britains Pig Pen Set has been a welcome addition to our imaginative play scenarios.
The Pig Pen Set comes with 2 pigs and 2 piglets, a pig sty and 6 pieces of moveable fencing. The set is also scaled to a 1.32 ratio, so it works perfectly with the tractors featured and other items within this scale range.
The Pig Sty features a ramp which can close, which Monkey’s loved. He sends his pigs to bed.
The fencing panels can be linked together to form a number of different shapes and are easy for little hands to adjust themselves. They are also sturdy, so I can’t see children being able to snap them easily.
It’s the perfect set for lots of pretend play fun and Monkey has taken to it straight away. I think my favourite scene so far has been where the farmer delivered some Lego bricks to the Pig Pen. What are the Lego pieces for Monkey? Mummy, they are not Lego, they are Pig Nuts!! It’s time for the pigs tea – obviously, silly Mummy.
The Britains Pig Pen Set is aimed at children aged 3 years and over and is priced at £6.99. It’s a hit here.
