Project 366 2016 Week 11

Project 366 2016 Week 11

Project 366 2016 Week 11 Day 73-79 with The Boy and Me. From running around at Cliveden to meeting the Easter Bunny.  It’s been a mixed bag of a week.

Sunday 13th March – Day 73

Project 366 2016 Week 11

We were meant to be heading north for our first visit to Coughton Court, but when I double checked, the gardens don’t open until April, so we headed south instead! We ended up at Cliveden, somewhere I haven’t visited since before Monkey was born.  The sun was out and Monkey had a wonderful day.

Monday 14th March – Day 74

Project 366 2016 Week 11

Another school week.  I helped in class this morning with some guided reading.  A book all about caterpillars and butterflies – the teacher must have known.  Monkey was tired and grumpy, this was pretty much the only smile before bedtime.  It’s a catch twenty-two for us.  Daddy P is only around on Sundays, so that’s always a busy day, so Monkey is always tired at the start of the school week.  I thought Daddy P was a burglar in the early hours and hadn’t been able to get to sleep afterwards, so there were 2 grumps by bedtime!

Tuesday 15th March – Day 75

Project 366 2016 Week 11

Who doesn’t want to be woken up with a Grand Prix race on their bed?  Love Monkey when he’s full of life first thing in the morning, not always the case! I had a busy day catching up with work.  Got more glitches on the blog since a Jetpack update – grrr.

We went to the park after school for a little bit which was nice for Monkey.

Wednesday 16th March – Day 76

Project 366 2016 Week 11

Monkey got into bed with me in the early hours.  Not quite sure why, but he slept from then on.  But today can be described as grumpy day.  Meltdown before and after school.

I went to a meeting at school about the new curriculum for Year One and Two.  The teachers did their best to sell it to us and I came home with lots of information to read up. I won’t lie.  I’m worried.  Monkey is probably still at the lower end of achievements and I wonder how he can ever catch up.  I know the teachers will do their best for him and his friends but I can certainly see next year being a very big challenge for my little man.

Thursday 17th March – Day 77

Project 366 2016 Week 11

Some people have a living room, I have a building site.  Apparently this is still the best present ever.  My BIL has been in hospital for nearly a week and was transferred to the county hospital and their specialist heart unit a few days ago.  He now has to have an operation, looks like it will be tomorrow.  Monkey made him a lovely card (my son writing!!!) which is by his bed.  Hopefully tomorrow we’ll have a clearer idea of what needs doing to make him better as it doesn’t sound as if this will be the end of things.  Not what any of us were expecting.

Friday 18th March – Day 78

Project 366 2016 Week 11

I dropped Monkey at school and headed up the motorway to meet Iona from Redpeffer for the day in Stratford-upon-Avon.  The sun decided not to join it, it was freezing so we just had to get indoors and devour come cake along with a hot drink or two.

Monkey had a good day at school and came home full of the joys of Spring.  Quite a change for a Friday.  Let’s hope that mood continues through the weekend.

My BIL had his operation this afternoon, apparently it went well.  Now we wait for the doctors conclusions.

Saturday 19th March – Day 79

Project 366 2016 Week 11

We got Monkey’s homework out-of-the-way first thing and then had fun getting to grips with his harmonica.  It was then time to watch the Formula One Quali highlights on Channel 4.  I can see I’m going to spend the whole season ranting about flipping adverts, but in general the coverage was good.  Not sure about Steve Jones, he needs to calm down a bit.  As for the actual new format of quali, I don’t think I’ve ever been so bored.  The format is beyond awful, let’s hope sense prevails soon on that one.

Monkey and I had been invited to have Tea with the Easter Bunny at our local Wyevale Garden Centre.  We bumped into Tracey from Mummyshire and her family which was a lovely surprise.  The event was a bit of a let down but Monkey enjoyed himself, he went for the ‘more is more’ approach with his cookie decorations.

  1. I have no idea why I always think you’re in Scotland, until you mention somewhere like Stratford upon Avon! Hope your BIL is doing ok and is out of hospital soon and that construction looks amazing!

  2. Sounds like a bit of an up and down week for you all. Hope your BIL is recovering and you get some answers.
The new curriculum worries me too! I don’t like it because there’s very little room for high achievers to exceed expectations. I feel it’s holding my daughter back, which is a real shame.

  3. What a week of ups and downs – I feel for you with grumpiness and tiredness. School curriculum has gone bonkers at all levels – try not to worry x

  4. Love the first photo of Monkey, he looks like he is having so much fun. I hope you get more good news about your BIL this week.

  5. Love the building site in the front room – Monkey looks like he is having fun. How lovely that you bumped into Tracey and her family at the garden centre. Glad to hear that your BIL’s operation went well and hope his recovery will be smooth-sailing. Cliveden is on my list of places to visit very soon – glad to hear that Monkey enjoyed your day out there 🙂

  6. Bob tends to go for the more is more look when decorating cakes and biscuits as well. looks a bit like an explosion in a hundreds and thousands factory. Nice to catch up with friends, but not good the event was disappointing.
Nice to hear the operation went ok and hope the news remains good.

  7. Love the building site! Hope your BIL is doing okay. How lovely to bump into Tracey at the event, and it does look like Monkey had fun with that cookie 🙂

  8. More is more is essential for cookies in my view! Shame about the Wyevale thing.

Wonder if our school will do a talk for us – guess not til next year anyway.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
