Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26 Day 171-184 with The Boy and Me.

Sunday 19th June – Day 171

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

We surprised Daddy P with a trip to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway for Fathers Day. We’d visited the railway when Monkey was tiny and at the time there had been a landslide so the track hadn’t been fully open.

We all enjoyed our visit and popped over to Hailes Abbey before heading home. I love this shot of Monkey I took there. He looks so grown up.

Monday 20th June – Day 172

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

I’d bought Monkey a Hama Construction vehicle set for his birthday/Christmas and we’ve never got round to opening it.  Today I had it all opened and ready for him when he got home from school and he loved it.

It would have been Daddy P’s fathers birthday today.  Monkey is named after him, but they never met, as he died a few months before Monkey was born.  Lovely that we will have more birthday celebrations on this day now, as an old friend had her second little boy today 🙂

Tuesday 21st June – Day 173

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

Sports Day was cancelled as it rained so much yesterday.  Of course that meant it was a lovely day today.  Monkey wasn’t bothered though!

It was time for some fun with Nutty Putty when Monkey got home from school.  Daddy P was at the doctors as he gave us a bit of a scare on holiday.  Doctor thinks he might have sleep apnea so he’s now booked in with the local sleep clinic.  I think they may well faint when he discusses his working week.

Wednesday 22nd June – Day 174

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

Well that pose says it all.  Quite comfy there Brewster?

Thursday 23rd June – Day 175

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

The EU Referendum Day, I headed to the polling station as soon as I dropped Monkey at school and left full of hope.  With parents living in Spain the vote adds an extra dimension for our family.

I spent a little time in the garden and enjoyed little dots of colour I found hiding under the shrubs.

Friday 24th June – Day 176

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

Turned the news on and cried.  Wow, really, how on earth did that happen? Dark days ahead I fear.

I dropped Monkey off at school and headed down to London for the weekend with Iona.  It was BritMums Live time and I was lucky enough to be sponsored again by Orchard Toys. Iona wasn’t going to the conference this year but was still going to be my roomie for the weekend.  We met up with Jenny and Colette at the hotel to check in, and then the two of us headed to the South Bank for the afternoon.  The sun shone, and although I wasn’t that keen on most of the modern art we looked at in Tate Modern, I did rather enjoy the Pimms at The Anchor just along the river! Cheers.

We had decided to have a quiet night, so ate at the hotel and got to have a proper catch up with The Boy and Me, which was lovely.

Saturday 25th June – Day 177

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

Ok I’ve cheated, I clearly didn’t take this shot of Mum Friendly Jo and I enjoying a glass of fizz at BritMums Live!  My iPhone really doesn’t like the lighting in The Brewery and my photos suck.  BritMums Live day, for me, it was so rushed being all on one day.  But it was lovely to catch up with people and Jo was a wonderful companion for the day.

In the evening Jenny (Brick Castle) and Colette (Going On an Adventure) and I caught up with Iona over dinner at the hotel and discussed the days events.

Sunday 26th June – Day 178

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

I felt shattered after Britmums, even though I’d had a lovely lie in and a hearty Premier Inn brekkie.  We had time to kill before we needed to head to Marylebone, so Iona and I wandered around the Old Street area for a bit.

Once home, I chilled out before Monkey and Daddy P returned from a local Steam Rally.  It soon became clear that Monkey wasn’t well and was in need of his Mummy.

Monday 27th June – Day 179

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

Monkey had a disturbed night so I decided to keep him at home today.  He was still really peeky this morning, but after tea time he was back to normal and treated me to his Clangers impersonation.

I’d been in a BritMums bubble all weekend, but now it was time to try to make sense of the Referendum vote and the subsequent political fallout.  I can’t understand why anyone would feel the need to be abusive to anyone over their decision and it sounds as if there has been a lot of unpleasantness since Friday.  God alone knows what the future now holds for us all, at the moment, to my mind, it’s looking very bleak.  Perhaps I’ll be surprised.

Tuesday 28th June – Day 180

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

Sports Day and this one actually joined in, not once, but twice!  He had me in tears and in need of a glass of wine after he’d gone to bed.  He got pizza for tea.  There are days when he just leaves me speechless, so proud of him.

Wednesday 29th June – Day 181

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

This photo sums up today – lots of grumpiness and not feeling great.  I woke up feeling like death warmed up and headed back to bed as soon as I’d walked Monkey to school.  He came home complaining about his teeth, he seems to have at least three wobblers at the moment, and one is proving rather painful for him.

Thursday 30th June – Day 182

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

I spent most of the day in bed feeling awful, but I did spot something unusual at one point – blue sky!  Ok it didn’t last for long, but there was a glimmer of hope there.

Friday 1st July – Day 183

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

Mummy I ate my tooth for lunch!  Oh bless him.  I finally persuaded him to write a note to the tooth fairy so she could still visit him. I’m hoping now his two front teeth will have a little more room to sort themselves out into a straight line!

I’d spent the day chilling out and finished The Fire Child, brilliant book.  In the evening I braved going out and went to the cinema with the girls to see Me Before You.  I loved the book and knew it would be a tissue-fest evening.

Saturday 2nd July – Day 184

Project 366 2016 Week 25-26

I’d cancelled today’s scheduled review outing yesterday as I knew I wouldn’t be up to the driving.  Luckily I am feeling more human today, and we’ve spent a quiet day at home.  We’ve had our first Skylanders experience, made the local ants a home in the garden and played with the new Batman Rory’s Story Cubes.  Monkey was in charge of working out which each image meant as we created our stories.

How can it only be 3 weeks until the end of term???

  1. Our children broke up on Wednesday lunch time.
    Glad you enjoyed Britmums.
Wobbly teeth need to be pulled out and my kids never gave up on them until they came out, and yeuch wobbled them in front of me.
Glad he enjoyed sports day in the end.

  2. Hope you’re feeling a bit better now. It was good to see you at BML. My phone takes dreadful photos there too – they come out all purple!
Sorry to hear about Daddy P’s health scare and his dad. It’s lovely that Monkey is named after him. My husband’s dad died when he was 13. Both my boys, both my nephews on that side and my husband’s cousin’s son have his name as their middle name.

  3. Love seeing all the photos of Monkey so focused and intently concentrating on the projects. And that photo of Brewster. I do hope you’re feeling better soon!

  4. The next 3 weeks are going to fly by! Eeeekkk he swallowed his tooth! I hope the fairy still came. It was lovely seeing you at BritMums it is just a shame it was at the very end! Hope you have a good week x

  5. He really has grown so much and it looks like he’s has a good week. Lucky the tooth fairy still came eh? 🙂 wish I’d said hello at Britmums, would have been lovely to meet you live!! Brexit has been all awful on the news hasn’t it? I hope I’m pleasantly surprised too with what is to come.

  6. Nice that Iona was able to go to London too and meet up. Crikey 3 wobbly teeth in one go – fingers crossed on the straightening out – teeth are strange things, he’s obviously got the issue I had, a small mouth for the teeth. N’s the opposite, lots of gaps between his new teeth, so space to fill thankfully.

  7. Glad you had fun at BML and lovely that Iona was able to spend the weekend too. Monkey really does look grown up in the first photo x

  8. That first piccie of Monkey is lovely. He looks so grown up!
I had the same feelings over the Referendum. 🙁 I Despair over what the future will bring.
Glad you had a good time at BML.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
