Project 366 2016 Week 45 Day 311-317 From Sunday dinner next to a roaring fire to poppies, frost and more.
Sunday 6th November – Day 311
We’d been invited to have dinner at The Fat Fox in Watlington, and on a freezing Sunday lunchtime, the sight of this fire was most welcome. We had a lovely meal, more on that in the week.
We headed over to Brill on our way home to try out our new kite. It was fun, but blimey, how cold! I’d forgotten my gloves and my fingers and thumbs ended up throbbing with the cold. The rain came down and we called it a day.
Monday 7th November – Day 312
Monkey had Beavers after school and made these lovely poppies, he didn’t tell me until Tuesday that he was only meant to make one, but wanted me to have one too.
Tuesday 8th November – Day 313
A frosty start to the day. I had hoped to go to London, but needed to stay at home. At least I could catch up with some work. Still playing catch up from half term.
Wednesday 9th November – Day 314
I ran a load of errands in the morning and enjoyed some blue skies along the way. Booked Monkey’s birthday party meal and found some invites.
In the afternoon I helped with guided reading at school and got to see the kids stone age necklaces all strung. They looked really good.
Thursday 10th November – Day 315
There are some days that it’s just the best thing ever being a blogger. We’re going to be working with JCB Kids for the next six months and Monkey could not have been happier with our first delivery. He was in heaven.
A couple of my NCT friends came round for a curry and a catch up in the evening which was lovely.
Friday 11th November – Day 316
Yes the digger did go to bed with him last night, and I was treated to an off-road experience as a wake up call this morning.
Another local lady goes to my photography course so we’ve decided to start car sharing. She offered this week and it was nice to get to know her a little better. I’ve been thinking about getting a tripod and she showed me her’s to give me some ideas of what I should look for. In class we discussed our White Balance and ISO homework before talking through portrait photography.
Armistice Day, always a little extra tough for me these days. A 5th birthday never celebrated.
Saturday 12th November – Day 317
Gramps birthday, him and my Mum are both poorly. We’d tried to get through on the phone to them this morning and thought it was strange we didn’t get a reply.
We’ve had a busy day catching up with homework, making things and having fun. We’ve got to take a portrait photos for my photography homework, so Monkey was being my subject this afternoon. Not ideal with the lighting but we had fun trying different things.
I’m off to a friends later to look at jewellery and drink cocktails. Someone’s got to right!?
Lovely picture of Monkey at the end. It looks like he’s going to have fun with his JCB! How sweet that he made you your own poppy.
An off road wake up is different. Yes blogging can be great for children, glad you are getting items to review that he really loves.
Great frosty picture. How nice to have a fellow photographer to car share and idea share ideas with.
I am thinking I should do a photography course. I keep meaning to read stuff online, etc. but maybe I need the discipline of a course and doing some homework.
Glad to hear the photography course is going well. N would be so jealous of Monkey with those JCBs
Sorry to hear that armistice day is such a difficult time for you. Glad monkey likes the JCB truck or to would be a hard time getting the reviews done, what boy doesn’t love a good truck eh?
Jewellery and cocktails sound perfect! The roaring fire looks so inviting – and much needed last weekend. Our Tuesday snaps are so similar! 🙂
that warming fire looks like a very welcome sight to complement a delicious Sunday luncheon. How exciting to be a tester for JCB toys – perfect assignment for young Monkey. Love that he took it to bed – exactly what my boys do with new toys of the moment!
sorry that the 11th is a hard day for you xx
