20 Questions to ask your children

20 Questions to ask your children – Monkey shares his thoughts #ShepherdsTwenty

I’ve not always been great at recording my son’s answers to questions so when I spotted that Shepherds Friendly had created a fun downloadable worksheet with 20 Questions to ask your children I knew I had to give it a go. So for once I now have a record of his answers to share for prosperity, and this might become an annual event.  He’s just turned 7, so it’s perfectly timed.

  1. What is you favourite colour?
Easy, Red, Mummy.  He does take after me with his love of Ferrari after all! His first option will always be for a red top too.

  2. Who is your best friend?
George – as he rolls his eyes.  They’ve been best friends since pre-school.
  3. What is your favourite TV programme?
Andy’s Dinosaur Adventures and his Prehistoric Adventures Mummy.  I can’t decide between them.  He’s dinosaur mad and more than happy that they are the basis for this term’s topic at school.

  4. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Without a moment’s hesitation – I want to be a steam train driver so I can drive Bittern for you. This is Monkey’s all time favourite train and he’s been in love with it since we saw on the Watercress Line in October 2015.

  5. What car do you want to have when you grow up?
    A fast one!
  6. If you could go anywhere in the world on holiday, where would go?
Spain, so I can see Granny and Gramps.  That one pulls at the heartstrings doesn’t it!  Bless him, it’s often hard to get him to talk to them on Skype but he gets so excited when we get to see them for real.

  7. Do you want to get married one day?
    I don’t know.
  8. How many children would you like?
Well 4 or 5 or it just depends, I might like less.
  9. What age are you when you become an adult?
    49
  10. What are you good at?
Building train tracks in my bedroom.
  11. If you had a superpower, what would it be?
To be able to make train tracks really quickly.  (I think you’re doing that already Monkey!)
  12. If you had one wish, what would it be?
That Mummy and Daddy would live forever.  That wasn’t going to make me cry at all was it!

  13. What does Mummy do as a job?
    Photography!
  14. What are you scared of?
Pretend people in my bedroom and scorpions, tarantulas and T-Rex.
  15.  What is your favourite song?
Shake it Off by Taylor Swift
  16. What is your favourite class at school?
Uum, break time! (says it all thinks Mummy) and learning about dinosaurs and fossils
  17. What is something Mummy always says to you?
Hurry up! We’re going to be late for school (you’re probably right about that)
  18. What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do?
Uum I’m not sure.  Not being with George in Year One maybe
  19. What makes you happy?
Mummy and Daddy and playing with my friends
  20. What makes you sad?
    Friends not playing with me

Got to love him, haven’t you. He also delegated the responsibility of writing his answers to me, but he had to make sure his name and age were correct.

  1. What a great idea to record their thoughts! I will always remember they did something similar at school, and I read all the answers on the display and thought I wonder how many of them will come true? 🙂

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
