All The Missing Girls

All The Missing Girls – a book review

I’m always on the look out for a new thriller and the debut novel from Megan Miranda has kept me up late into the night recently.  All the Missing Girls was published through Corvus Books last month and is well worth a read if you’re looking for something to keep you guessing.

All The Missing Girls

This book is a little different from the norm as it tells the story in reverse, so you work backwards to the start of the story to work out exactly what has happened to All The Missing Girls.

The main character is Nicolette Farrell, she lives in the city and has become engaged to a wealthy lawyer, but one day she has to return to her rural hometown in North Carolina.  Her father has dementia and has been put in a home, but he’d sent her a note, telling her he’d seen the missing girl.  Nic has to get back, to face her past and discover what her father has seen.

Back in her high school days Nic was friends with a rather wild girl called Corinne. One night at the fair Corinne goes missing and is never seen again.  So what has Nic’s father remembered?  Nic has to face her brother Daniel, who’s been left to look after their father and deal with his illness, along with his pregnant wife.  It soon becomes clear that Nic and her brother have unresolved issues.  There’s also her high school sweetheart Tyler, who she left behind without a word of goodbye all those years before.  When his current girlfriend Annaleise Carter goes missing, memories of the past are brought back and Tyler comes under suspicion, along with Nic’s father who’s been talking to the police.

Where have these missing girls gone to, and how are their fates interlinked?  I can’t tell you much more without giving the plot away.  We follow Nic as she realises she is still in love with Tyler, and she starts to unravel the past.

All The Missing Girls is a thrilling book, it keeps you guessing right to the end, when both stories clash together and everything is revealed.  Buy it, you won’t regret it.  I’ve included my Amazon Affiliate link below for your reference.
