Project 365 2017 Week 9

Project 365 2017 Week 9 Day 57 – The week of lost possessions and the first part of the flooring being completed.

Sunday 26th February  – Day 57

Project 365 2017 Week 9

A day at home getting rid of the carpet and underlay in the hallway and cloakroom ready for the flooring to be sorted in the week.  Once that was done Monkey helped me get some shots for my college homework.  It’s all about pets and wildlife this week and I needed a shot of our pet with his owner.  Brewster isn’t a lap cat so a side by side shot was the best I was going to get, but I do love Monkey’s expression.

Monday 27th February – Day 58

Project 365 2017 Week 9

I’ve woken up full of cold and feeling none too bright.  Once I’d dropped Monkey at school it was home to sort out his toys and books in the spare room.  He’s got way too much of everything and it’s time to get ruthless as we really need some space.

I can really feel that Spring is on the horizon now.  Brighter mornings and this was the view as I dropped Monkey off at Beavers at 6pm – still not dark!!! Better days are ahead.

Tuesday 28th February – Day 59

Project 365 2017 Week 9

The hallway and cloakroom floors were being primed and screeded ahead of new flooring being put down on Thursday.  The floor would need 4 hours to really be dried, so I headed off to Stratford to meet a friend straight from walking Monkey to school.

There were some amazing cakes at the cafe in the RSC when we decided to stop for lunch. Had a nice catch up with Iona, before heading home in the pouring rain.

It was only later that I realised that at some point during the trip I managed to lose my favourite ring as well as leaving my shopping in the RSC cafe. Neither has re-surfaced.  Gutted.

But on a happier note I’m going to be a Great Auntie for the first time in September as my oldest niece and her partner announced that they are expecting.

Wednesday 1st March – Day 60

Project 365 2017 Week 9

Monkey is obsessed with Brewster at the moment and wants to be with him at all times.  Brewster is less happy with this arrangement and I’m waiting for the day to come when he lets Monkey know this!  We had delayed our pancake day so Daddy P could enjoy them too after school.

My cold seems to be getting worse rather than better and I’ve felt rubbish all day.  Monkey ended up in bed with me complaining that his legs were really hurting, he was full of tears.  Calpol seemed to help and we eventually got some sleep.

Thursday 2nd March – Day 61

Project 365 2017 Week 9

The day the flooring was laid in the hallway and cloakroom and the day Brewster wasn’t outside when I thought he was.  Only my cat could get the bonding adhesive all over his paws.  Thank god it’s water based.  Cue panic from me and Brewster.  I should imagine the fitters were silently cursing us both. Anyway, thankfully it all peeled off in the rain and all was ok.  I’m so pleased with the flooring and cannot wait for the carpet to go down next week.

Friday 3rd March – Day 62

Project 365 2017 Week 9

We’ve been talking about wildlife and pet photography on my course.  One of the ladies on the course brought one of her dogs into class so we could also practice taking shots of a black animal against a dark background.  Zeb was a real star, isn’t he lovely.

I’m off out for the evening for cocktails with my NCT group – should be fun.

Saturday 4th March – Day 63

Project 365 2017 Week 9

We had a bit of a lie in as I didn’t go to bed til 1am this morning.  I can thoroughly recommend our new NCT cocktail from last night – Prosecco, Raspberry Vodka, Pink Lemonade and frozen raspberries.

It’s raining in Spain as we discovered when we rang Mum to wish her a happy birthday.  Just for once we’ve got better weather here.  The sun is out and Monkey decided he wanted to spend some time in the garden having fun in his mud pit. Sometimes he looks so grown up.  I’ve started clearing the living room as we can take the carpet and underlay up.  Still have no idea where all the furniture is going to go – will worry about that when Daddy P is around tomorrow.

  1. I don’t know where to start! What a week! I love the first photo especially in black and white. Great contrasts there. The new flooring looks really lush. Such a horrible shame someone nicked your shopping! I hope the ring maybe was seperate and still resurfaces. #365

  2. That is a gorgeous photo of Monkey and your cat…You can tell he loves him.
The cake looks so good and the flooring looks fantastic.
hehehe! That cocktail does sound good….

  3. Love the dog photo, and the first of Monkey and Brewster. I think that last picture of Monkey makes him look a bit younger. Funny how everyone sees different things. Hope the carpet fitting goes well.

  4. love the first photo of Monkey and the cat, such a happy expression on his face. The photo of the black dog is stunning also, a fantastic capture. Sorry to hear about your ring and shopping, i do hope the cake was worth it.

  5. I love the photo of Zeb, brilliant, and Monkey and Brewster. Seems like you had a busy week with some downs, shame about the shopping and your ring (I hope they turn up), but some good ups too with your happy news. I’m also totally stealing the cocktail recipe 🙂

  6. That’s such a beautiful photo of the dog, look at his eyes. And congrats to you on the new grand baby news. Hope monkeys legs are feeling back to normal now.

  7. a black dog in a dark background is very difficult to photograph so well done. Oh dear at Brewster liking Monkey less than Monkey likes him.
The flooring looks fab, I am jealous, I want rid of my horrible laminate.

  8. Oh what beautiful photos! I love your cat Brewster, gorgeous! And the photo of the dog is amazing. Your new floor is lovely, I bet you can’t wait for the carpet to be installed too 🙂

  9. Love that first photo of Monkey and Brewster and the dog is beautiful! Your flooring looks amazing, you must be so pleased with it. Sorry to read that you lost your ring and your shopping 🙁

  10. Zeb is a beautiful dog and what a great and very patient model for you all. I am so sorry that you lost your ring and your shopping – you never know, the ring might turn up as it might be somewhere else like the car or in a pocket/bottom of your bag. Cats! Silly for getting adhesive on his paws- our cat did something similar with paint, but on her fur! x

  11. Well done on your black on black photo!
Poor Brewster on the top of the stairs he really doesn’t look happy!
You mentioning monkey’s painful legs reminded me of my oldest, he used to get awful pains. A consultant told us it’s due to bones growing and stretching the muscle. Best to keep as active as possible. 🙁

  12. Wow, you’ve had a busy week! So sorry about your ring and shopping 🙁 Your floor looks fab though! What a beautiful dog, and that first shot of Monkey and Brewster is wonderful x
