Travel Activity Book

Travel Activity Book – review and giveaway

So we are finally on our Easter break, seems like most of the world started last week, so I apologise if it rains from now on.  Monkey and I are going to be doing a fair bit of travelling around over the next couple of weeks.  I wanted something that would keep him entertained in the back of the car whilst I’m busy driving up and down motorways. The new Travel Activity Book from Button Books will hopefully do just that.

Travel Activity Book

Published last week, the Travel Activity Book follows on from the London Activity book we’ve reviewed previously. This 76 page book is full of different activities aimed at keeping children aged 5-11 occupied in the holiday season.

The book features two sets of 18 pages of activities, meaning that two children could make use of this book at the same time.  The pages peel off, so you could split the book in two to start with, as you complete each page, or leave it as one book, the choice is your’s.There are also 8 pull out and colour postcards at the back.

With colouring pages, dot to dot and I spy to name a few of the activities, each page has a holiday feel to it.  You can make a check list of things to pack in your suitcase, create your own airline and identify the different types of cloud. My son is fascinated by the clouds, so this particular page has gone down very well.  There’s also a page featuring different time zones across the world, so we’ve tried to work out what time it is where friends and family live across the globe.  The Travel Activity Book is fun to complete, but there’s also an educational aspect which I like.

Monkey’s been particularly intrigued by the idea of designing his own ice cream and ice cream toppings.  We’re off to seaside later this week so he’s saving been trying to decide which flavour he’ll be tracking down when we arrive!

We’ll be going on a few adventures without Daddy P, so Monkey’s taking his Travel Activity Book with us, so he can complete different pages to show his Daddy when we get back.  Really lucky people might even get sent a personalised post card or a framed picture!

  1. My favourite holiday activity is making sand castles because its fun and it reminds me of my childhood.

  2. Going to the beach on a sunny day is my favourite thing to do because the kids all love it.

  3. I would love theme parks with the kids (but I don’t like the waiting times). I would much rather be exploring somewhere new.

  4. Getting outdoors into the fresh air ( weather permitting) and do some exploring / get my bearings ( work out directions to places etc) / sightsee etc. In a new place, so want to find out what facilities, entertainment etc is nearby.

  5. Making sancastles on the beach as we dont get chance to in the UK because of the weather and my kids like making princess castlez

  6. Exploring where we are, all the little beauty spots, and local eateries, do what the locals do! I like going off the beaten track and seeing secret spots x

  7. We like to get out and about. Our son loves to be outside, especially in the woods or park

  8. When it’s somewhere hot and sunny nothing beats a dip in the pool or sea. It’s strange because I love the water and swimming but never get round to going when at home. When you are away it seems the most natural thing in the world?

  9. We enjoy visiting Sea Life centres and/or zoos when we go on holiday. We love animals and we are trying to pass this on to our son x

  10. Exploring! Whether that’s going off the beaten track in the woods or down a side street in the city. It’s exciting finding out what’s there!

  12. Being a tourist and doing the sightseeing stuff. I love to visit new places with the family.

  20. We love a visit to the beach, no two days are ever the same – we love walking, playing games, splashing in the sea and building castles – lots of fresh air and exercise and we all sleep better too

  21. My favourite holiday activity has to be having fun at the beach making sandcastles then destroying them.

  22. It depends on whether it is summer or winter. In winter I get the kids to do a lot of crafting and making things. In the summer I like to get them out and we do nature trails and walks

  23. Jumping waves and enjoying the beach – because I live a couple of hours from the coast so it’s great when we go and my son loves it

  27. Just sending time together as a family if abroad we like splashing in the pool at home lots of walking

  28. Visiting the beach – because there are so many different things to do to keep children entertained rain or shine 🙂

  29. In the car or on the bus or train, it is ‘the first person to see’ something like a yellow car, a phone mast and so on.

  30. Our favourite holiday activity is alphabet spotting (take it in turns to spot something beginning with each letter or work together as a team)- great for in the car but you can play it anywhere!
