Project 365 2017 Week 20 Day 134 – 140

Sunday 14th May  – Day 134

Project 365 2017 Week 20

We had planned to drive up to Ironbridge for the day, but Monkey and I were both shattered and Daddy P never set his alarm, so it just didn’t happen.  We had a lazy home day instead.  Monkey has always loved being hoisted up by his Daddy, but these days he’s starting to get a little too heavy.  I’m not sure how much longer this game will continue for now.

I’d got nothing out for dinner so we headed to our local Brewers Fayre – what a mistake that was.  Awful service and a later than planned bedtime for Monkey.

Monday 15th May – Day 135

Project 365 2017 Week 20

I opened the door to the spare room!  It is my nemesis, and really needed to be sorted ahead of my parents visit next week.  Time to give things away and donate some things to school.  Monkey was tired after school so spent time playing with his Lego before Beavers.  They had a walk to the chip shop on the next estate.  He’s not a big chip fan, but he came back telling me how he’s definitely going to Cubs and Scouts now.  Result.

Tuesday 16th May – Day 136

Project 365 2017 Week 20

My morning welcoming committee.  I dropped Monkey at school and headed out to get my hair cut and coloured which saw most of the morning disappear in front of my eyes.  Home to get some admin jobs, a nothing much to report kind of day.

Wednesday 17th May – Day 137

Project 365 2017 Week 20

What a day, it rained all day.  I’d wanted to tackle our front hedge which is in desperate need of a cut, but that will have to wait.  Got on with some more clearing clutter whilst Monkey was at school instead.  My new phone case arrived, my old one was rubbish and fell apart. I then went an ordered the wrong size case but today, the correct one arrived and I love it.

Monkey’s got a cold so he’s less than happy and ended up in bed with me for the night.  Before I went to bed I get on with some cross stitch.  My eldest niece is having a little girl in September so I’m making a sampler for her nursery – sssh it’s a surprise.

Thursday 18th May – Day 138

Project 365 2017 Week 20

I’d like to say that Brewster keeps me company whilst Monkey is at school, but clearly that isn’t the case.  He’s very much a night owl and goes out when I go to bed, and then sleeps all the next day.  Must be nice.

Friday 19th May – Day 139

Project 365 2017 Week 20

Monkey went into school early for his one on one session with his teacher and I headed over to Wheatley Bird of Prey to meet up with my photography class.  Clive and his team showed us some of their truly beautiful birds.  The rain kept messing us around but it was a wonderful way to spend a few hours.

The end of the school week and Monkey came bounding out of class, he’d got some really tricky spellings right in his test and was chuffed with himself.  I’d been sent a Minion 3D puzzle to review and as soon as he saw the box he wanted to make it.  I wasn’t needed, and he loved it.

Just as he was headed off to bed we had a huge down pouring of rain and hail along with thunder and lightning. Please god that we don’t have this tomorrow!

Saturday 20th May – Day 140

Project 365 2017 Week 20

Monkey and I had been invited to try the new Bushcraft Experience course with Cotswold Adventures being held at Cotswold Farm Park.  We got to spend the morning with Adam Henson and try our hand at foraging, fire making, wood crafts and shelter building.  Ok I’ve cheated, I didn’t take this photo, but I’m shattered after an excellent but long day and I don’t have the energy to look through my shots tonight.  We’ve made a shelter, made fire, cooked our own lunch which involved me pulling the head and wings off a pigeon before removing the breasts – all without a knife – go me!  Brilliant day.

  1. Glad to hear Monkey has declared Beavers a hit now and all for the price of a bag of chips, think that would tempt me also, we can’t get chip shop chips here in Dubai and I always grab a bag when I get back to the UK. Love the family photo of the 3 of you.

  2. What a great photo at Cotswold Farm Park. We used to love going there, but never had the excitement of meeting Adam Henson!
So pleased Monkey wants to go on to Cubs and Scouts now. I’m sure he will have an amazing time.
Lovely photo of Monkey being lifted up by Daddy. My daughter still wants us to do stuff like this, but she’s about 5′ tall now, which makes it a struggle!
The cross stitch looks lovely. How exciting that your niece is having a baby 🙂

  3. yeuuccchhhh at the pigeon, rather you than me, so well done hun.
