Celebrating Father's Day with Hotel Chocolat

Celebrating Father’s Day with Hotel Chocolat – review and giveaway

My parents moved to Spain over a decade ago and although it’s not a million miles away, we don’t get to spend much time together.  We miss birthdays, Christmas and Mother’s and Father’s Day.  This year my parents celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary, in fact, in a couple of weeks.  As it’s in term time, yet again we can’t celebrate on the day together.  But later today I’m picking them up from the airport so we can celebrate their anniversary a couple of weeks early with my brother and his family too.  But I’m a real Daddy’s girl, always have been, and we’ll be having a double celebration and will be Celebrating Father’s Day with Hotel Chocolat too.

What do Dad’s really want for Father’s Day?  Well, I’m sure my Dad will say, nothing if asked, especially now he lives abroad, but for a change it will be nice to surprise him with a little treat, maybe he’ll even share.

What do you buy a 74-year-old who has everything he wants? With him living overseas if I post something, it needs to be small!  As they’ll be here for a week, I know my Mum will have packed their case to the brim, so large gifts are also out of the question. I know he loves chocolates but doesn’t get to eat them very often these days, so I just know that the Father’s Day Sleekster selection box from Hotel Chocolat will go down very well. It will be a totally unexpected surprise and I can’t wait to see his reaction.

Filled with 27 different milk, dark, white and caramel chocolate, including pralines and desserts I know he’s going to love the Eton Mess and Caramel Cheesecake.  I can’t wait to surprise him.  Sssh!  Can you keep a secret?

Now my 7 year old Monkey and I always struggle with presents for Daddy P.

He’s a workaholic with few hobbies and he doesn’t really drink.  Throw in the fact he has size 14 feet and you can’t even get him novelty socks!  But he has a weakness and we can always guarantee that he will always enjoy celebrating Father’s Day with Hotel Chocolat.  He is a total chocoholic after all.  I know he will devour the Father’s Day H-Box selection box.  Actually, I think he’d rather have some nice chocolates than anything else.

The Fudge Sundae and Florentine Isabelle will be his favourite picks.  I know he’s going to love this alternative idea for a Father’s Day gift.
