Project 365 2017 Week 24 Day 162 – 168

Sunday 11th June  – Day 162

Project 365 2017 Week 24

We had a really fun, but relaxing kind of day.  We spent some time in our local park playing with Monkey’s new Air Hogs E-Charger Shark in the morning. After lunch we headed to a local farm for Open Farm Sunday, where you get to spend time on a farm, seeing how they work and what crops and livestock they have.  It was great fun, and something we will definitely do again.  Monkey loved it and overcame a fear along the way too.

Monday 12th June – Day 163

Project 365 2017 Week 24

I wanted to buy a friend some flowers to say thank you for lending me a couple of blow up mattresses for when my parents were over.  They really saved us and both Daddy P and I slept well on them.  I couldn’t walk past the peonies without buying some for myself.

I picked up one of my NCT friends and we headed over to meet up with my mattress lending friend and to spend time with adorable A, who at nearly 8 weeks old is the youngest member of our NCT group.  We went for a cuppa and a bit of cake and ended up stopping for lunch.  Walked into the village and had a tasty sandwich.  I love days that just evolve.

Monkey went to Beavers after school and he came our brandishing biscuits he’d made for Daddy P for Father’s Day, and a card.  Mummy, the top biscuit is for me! What about me I asked?

Tuesday 13th June – Day 164

Project 365 2017 Week 24

It was dressing up day at school for Monkey’s year as they went dressed up as the child of a Victorian Lighthouse Keeper.  All seemed fine when I took this shot before school and Monkey was happily wanting to join in.  By the time he was due to go into class that had all changed and we had tears and a little boy who bolted, trying to go home. His teacher came to my rescue and apparently he did have a good day.  But maybe that’s the end to dressing up for school, which is fine.

Wednesday 14th June – Day 165

Project 365 2017 Week 24

There are no words to describe what we woke up to this morning, the news from London was just heartbreaking.

Counting blessings, hugging those we love and sending thoughts to all those involved.

Thursday 15th June – Day 166

Project 365 2017 Week 24

My companion for breakfast this morning!

Friday 16th June – Day 167

Project 365 2017 Week 24

I dropped Monkey off at school for his one to one class before lessons started and caught the bus into Oxford from our local park and ride.  Our photography class was spending the morning at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. It’s somewhere I’ve visited a lot with Monkey, so it was strange not to have my partner in crime with me.  But I did have fun and took my longer lens so I could get some close up shots.

Saturday 17th June – Day 168

Project 365 2017 Week 24

More and more Monkey is asking to stay at home on Saturdays.  He’s finding school really tiring at the moment and seeing as the fan barely works in my car and the air con never works, I’m more than happy to oblige on days like today.  He’s already in a 9/10 swim suit which was meant to having growing room in it!  Looks like I’ll need to order a new paddling pool this afternoon too.  31 degrees before 11am this morning in the garden, it’s going to be a hot one.

  1. The news from London is just devastating. I can’t believe all the terrible things that keep happening.
It definitely looks like he needs more room in his paddling pool! I love the photo in the Natural History Museum and am quite jealous of your ‘evolving’ day. I need a day like that!

  2. Shame the dressing up day didn’t go as hoped. Hopefully he doesn’t get put off in future (although let’s face it, it is easier for mums). Sounds like it was a nice week catching up with friends

  3. Monkey makes a very cute lighthouse master! I am going to need to look up Open Farm Sunday and see if they do it up in Scotland. We have doors open day with the likes of the fire brigade and my boy loves those days. #365

  4. Shame the dressing up ended badly for him.
Bigger paddling pools take so long to blow up and fill, but yes agree a bigger one may be better for him.
The Grenfell Tower tragedy was just awful news, could not tear myself away from the tv.

  5. It sounds like you had great fun at the the farm….
Oh dear. It’s such a shame the dressing up didn’t go to well…I hope he is not too put off.
hehehe! I think you do need a bigger paddling pool….Today has been roasting! x

  6. I know what you mean about going to a familiar place without your child. I did that a while back at the Botanical Gardens and it did feel odd. Love the peonies.

  7. you know I’ve often wondered how old monkey is. bless him re the dressing up for school, think there is too much pressure that they all must join in, it’s not something any of my 4 boys enjoyed doing. I hope you got a biscuit in the end

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
