Going Back to School with Term School Shoes

Going Back to School with Term School Shoes

I know, you’ve read the post title and thought, what!  Please don’t shoot me, you will thank me later.  This academic school year is drawing to a close and I can’t quite believe that my 7 year old son will soon be leaving Key Stage One.  How can he be old enough to be starting Year Three in September? How!? Anyway, one thing I’ve learned since my son started pre-school may moons ago, is to be organised, to be ahead of the game.  Trust me, you do not want to be kiting your child out for the new school year on the last day of the summer holidays.  Monkey will be going Back to School with Term School Shoes.

New Brands Limited launched their range of Term School Shoes for boys and girls in April this year and we’re thrilled that Monkey will be going Back to School with Term School Shoes in September.

There are various options available, and we opted for the style that I think will work best for him.  He struggles with lace up shoes at home, so I thought we’d give that idea for school a miss.  I can just imagine what would happen before and after PE lessons.  Velcro fastening shoes are a godsend in my opinion and a big hit with my son.

We decided on the Chivers Double Velcro in Black in an adult size 3.  I was really relieved to see that these shoes have been designed with comfort in mind and that their suggested width fitting is medium to wide.  My son is normally a G fitting, and we’ve had issues in the last with shoes just being too tight for him to wear.  No such issue here for us.

The shoes have a flexible thermo runner sole and come with a cushioned insole which offers support and comfort for boys on the go.

I always worry about whether shoes will rub, especially around the heel, but I really don’t need to be concerned with these shoes.  The shoes feature a soft colour around the heel, making them comfortable from the first wear and stopping any signs of blisters from the start.

Monkey’s already been putting his new shoes through their paces and he loves them.  Easy to put on, comfortable to wear, and a good fit.  He’s happy.  From my point of view the stitching is good, the shoes are made with leather uppers and the soles are hard-wearing.  There’s some growing room left so I’m hoping that going Back to School with Term School Shoes, will see him wearing his new shoes for some time to come.

These particular shoes are available in child size 8 through to adult size 8, with half sizes being available from August 2017. Prices range from £32.99 to £51.59, depending on size, the size 3 is £42.99 which stacks up well against other brands in my opinion.

  1. Off to nosy – I think N would need a more substantial pair than these, but I like proper school shoes and not black trainers, so it’s hard to find now Brantano’s gone and there’s pretty much only Clarks on the high street which aren’t good for him.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
