Project 365 2017 Week 27 Day 183 – 189
Sunday 2nd July – Day 183
My back was playing up so we had a day at home in the garden which went down well with Monkey. Lots of paddling pool action and the sand pit got used for the first time in a long time. We had a surprise visit from my brother, SIL and one of my nieces which was lovely.
An end of an era too as Daddy P dismantled the swing which Monkey hasn’t used in a very long time.
Monday 3rd July – Day 184
Sports Day – and wow what a day that was. You might have read my post on Wednesday about Monkey’s achievements. Amazing is the only way to describe what happened that day.
Tuesday 4th July – Day 185
We were both still buzzing from Sports Day as Monkey headed off to school. I dropped him off and then headed over to my hairdresser friend to get my hair cut.
A working afternoon followed by fun with Monkey after school at home.
Wednesday 5th July – Day 186
Monkey went on a school trip to Stoke Bruerne and the canal museum. I didn’t go on the trip this time and it was lovely to see that that didn’t faze Monkey at all. Times are certainly changing. It was strange not to be with him and see how it all went, but lovely to listen to his tales when he got back. He had such a good time and was full of it all.
The sunshine had returned and I decided to surprise Monkey and have his paddling pool all ready for when he finished school. But before he got changed he decided to do some bird spotting. It wasn’t long before the pool was calling him though and he spent the rest of the afternoon and evening outside having fun in the sun.
Thursday 6th July – Day 187
I caught up with some work before heading out to The Milk Shed for lunch with my NCT group. The weather has been a bit all over the place today cloudy, sunny, raining. Clearly it’s gearing up for next weekend and the Grand Prix. Lunch was as lush as ever, and I got some cuddles in with baby A, how can he be 11 weeks old already?
Friday 7th July – Day 188
No more one on one sessions for Monkey means he doesn’t have to get up super early on a Friday. I dropped him at school and headed over to college for my last photography class of the term. I’ll miss next week’s exhibition as I’ll be at the Grand Prix.
Came home to see bees busy at work in the gardens. Lovely to watch.
School report day, and a lovely one for Monkey after a hard year. He’s come on in so many ways this year, some just can’t be put in a box. We’re super proud of him.
Saturday 8th July – Day 189
A quiet morning and then a trip to the school fayre after lunch. I was instructed to buy Monkey’s latest creation, a plant pot that he’d painted (in blues) with a hand print growing out of it. He wasn’t fussed about hanging around there too long and just wanted to come back home and get back in his paddling pool.
We might have had to have a FAB lolly break.
These photos made me smile….Happy faces and a lots of fun!
It looks and sounds like he’s really loving the paddling pool x
Wow, Fab lollies are a blast from the past! Great to read about Monkey’s sports day and his school report. You must be so proud of him.
Congratulations on the wins are Sports Day Monky. Aiden is just learning to catch a ball and throw but I am sure we can can check up soo
Don’t blame Monkey for wanting to spend as much time in that pool as possible. Hope your back feels better soon.
it’s lovely to read about how far monkey has come this past school year, he is achieving so much and gaining independence you must be really happy.
‘Some just can’t be put in a box’ – you’ve hit the nail on the head there! Glad his year has ended so well x
Well done Monkey on a very good Sports day and it sounds like it’s been a great school year for him! I hope your back is back to normal now.
Love that last photo of the two of you 🙂 Looks like he loves that new paddling pool, lovely that you’ve had such good weather to make good use of it!
Yes the weather was lovely. All gone again now though
