Project 365 2017 Week 34

Project 365 2017 Week 34 Day 232 – From the Cotswolds to London and back to the Shire.

Sunday 20th August –  Day 232

Project 365 2017 Week 34

We got to meet some family from Canada for the first time as they came to stay with my SIL for a few days.  They are touring Scotland and England, doing some family history work and meeting up with various family members along the way.  They’re both teachers and it wasn’t long before they’d gained Monkey’s trust and he was chatting away to them.  We took them on a whistle stop tour of the Cotswolds and stopped at Broadway Tower for a drink before heading home and a family meal out at the local Prezzo.

Monday 21st August – Day 233

Project 365 2017 Week 34

We headed down to London on the train as I’d got tickets via Kids Week for Horrible Histories. Before the show we popped into the new Lego store and we were both impressed with the various Lego models and the mural. Needless to say we didn’t leave empty-handed.  We walked round Trafalgar Square, grabbed some lunch and headed into the show.  Afterwards we went to the Museum Of London, I hadn’t been in 41 years, much has changed in that time.

Tuesday 22nd August – Day 234

Project 365 2017 Week 34

Apparently a pj day was called for and lots of chill out time, so that’s exactly what we had.  We’ve been having internet connection issues for the last week and our Skype session with Spain was a nightmare.  It then took me 3 hours to put one post together as I’d lose connection literally every couple of minutes – grrr.

Wednesday 23rd August – Day 235

Project 365 2017 Week 34

We went to the British Motor Museum with our friends L and C, as they’d not been before.  Finding the old Jaguar F1 car is always a highlight for Monkey.  After lunch the sun was out and we decided to make the most of it and headed home via Upton House.  Cue lots of rolling down slopes and bug hunting.  It really was a lovely day.

Thursday 24th August – Day 236

Project 365 2017 Week 34

I normally do our food shopping when Monkey is at school, but the cupboards were bare so my assistant helped me do some restocking this morning.  He loves being my helper so I made the most of it.  Afterwards we decided to try out one of the local 5K Blue line walks that have sprung up around us recently.  We made it back home just as it started to rain.  Perfect timing for some lunch too.

The sun reappeared and we had some fun in the garden before tea time.

Friday 25th August – Day 237

Project 365 2017 Week 34

A gloriously sunny day!  Monkey and I had a leisurely breakfast and then headed out to try the second of our local 5K walks.  It was just lovely, lots of nature, ponds and chat time.  We both loved it, and then Monkey realised that he could see the trains to London passing by at one point.  Happy days.  We were walking along, Monkey eating a snack bar, when he suddenly announced a tooth had fallen out.  Please tell me you haven’t swallowed a third one?  No Mummy, it’s here!

Tooth Fairy time.

When we got home we had some lunch and spent the rest of the day in the garden.  Lovely.

Saturday 26th August – Day 238

Project 365 2017 Week 34

We had planned to go for another walk today or get the paddling pool out.  But the sun hasn’t come out quite as much as yesterday and neither us really fancied the walk either.  So we’ve had a home day.  I caught up with the mountain of ironing and Monkey has been busy playing trains in preparation for meeting the Flying Scotsman tomorrow.  He’s not excited at all.

  1. Wow, you are well travelled this week! Looks like you’ve both had a lovely time. The 5k blue line walks are a really good idea. I would definitely have to run it though!

  2. Must investigate those blue line walks. Our day today was beautiful and warm. Hoping next week is because we’re away for a few days. I noticed the Flying Scotsman coming too – not sure I’ll convince N to go though.

  3. What a fantastic idea those blue line walks look! I’ve never seen anything like that here but would love to give one a go. I can only imagine how much fun the lego store and shoe must have been too! #365

  4. Intrigued by the blue line walks – I’ve not seen any round here, but I like the idea of being able to pick up the route anywhere and know you’ll be led back.

  5. loving the decoration in Monkey’s bedroom. the blue line walks look interesting, I’ll have to check out if there are any round here. you sure do pack a lot in during the holidays. grrrrr to skype, we have similar issues, but i think i’ve sorted mums internet for now

  6. Is the blue line down the middle of a road? Nice to have a defined 5k circular walk,
We got caught out the other day as well with the rain closing in when we were 1.5 miles through a 3 mile walk so we were as well carrying on as going back.
I am intrigued and have to ask why a rain jacket and sandals?
Nive he came out of his shell and spoke to the visitors

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
