King Pong

KING PONG – review and giveaway

Monkey and I have been playing the new game on the block from Drumond Park called KING PONG.  It’s aimed at children aged 8 years and over and can be played by 2-4 players.

King Pong

The games comes with a KING PONG unit, base with pivoting doors and lid, 4 corner posts, 4 clear windows, 4 trays, 2 piece central pyramid, 2 blocking triangles, 20 coloured balls in white, blue, green and orange, along with an instruction leaflet.

King Pong

Assembly is fairly easy, although we have found that the white trays do pop out quite easily, but it doesn’t affect play. It’s also easy to take KING PONG apart, and with a bit of jiggling I’ve managed to get everything back in the box when we’ve finished playing.

Priced at £24.99 KING PONG is a game that’s based on speed, precision and a bit of luck rather than skill, it’s fast paced and games are over quickly.  Decide on which coloured balls you want to play with and place them in your tray.  Then the aim of the game is to be the first person to empty their tray by bouncing them into the cube unit.

KING PONG

Sounds easy doesn’t it?  But of course, it isn’t.  You have to bounce the balls in to the unit one-handed, and is it hits the pyramid the ball may or may not come straight back into your tray.

The first player with an empty tray shuts their green door and are proclaimed the winner of KING PONG.

We’ve played KING PONG a few times now as a two player game, but I can really see this game coming into its own with 3 or 4 players really.  Where you’d need a bit more space for all the players to be playing at the same time.  It would be frantic fun I’m sure.
