Project 365 2017 Week 41 Day 281 – 287

Sunday 8th October – Day 281

Project 365 2017 Week 41

We’d been invited to review Woburn Safari Park and had a wonderful day.  Monkey got to try some new things which was wonderful to witness. Even the tigers came out to play eventually, although we did rather mess up our attempts to see my son’s beloved giraffes up close.

Monday 9th October – Day 282

Project 365 2017 Week 41

I went to see Monkey’s school swimming lesson, and was really impressed.  If they sort his stroke out, that boy is going to be flying at backstroke.

I had a long overdue catch up with my friend L, and we treated ourselves to lunch at The Lion in Wendlebury, I had a rather lovely Game Pie.

After school Monkey and I joined his Beaver colony for a trip to the local Fire Station, it was lovely to see the difference in him, from our last visit in Year One at school.

Tuesday 10th October – Day 283

Project 365 2017 Week 41

Wear something yellow to school for Mental Health Awareness day.  I picked out a number of tops that had yellow in them, and Monkey opted for the yellow lava on his Volcano top.  He decided a mad eyes photo was required before he headed off to school.

Wednesday 11th October – Day 284

Project 365 2017 Week 41

I dropped Monkey off at school and headed up to Stratford-upon-Avon to meet up with my friend I, who I haven’t seen since before the summer holidays.  We had a good catch up over a cuppa and a slice of carrot cake before going for a walk along the river.

Thursday 12th October – Day 285

Project 365 2017 Week 41

I dropped Monkey off at school and headed to my photography course.  We discussed our histogram homework and then started to look at landscape photographers for inspiration for the next set of homework.  Now I just need a spare couple of hours to get the work done (not sure that’s going to happen this week – manic).

From there I headed round to see one of my NCT group who’s just started her own blog to offer a few bits of advice. She’ll be fab, and I’m sure I’ll be the one asking her about things before I know it.

Got home with a bit of time to look round the garden before Monkey needed collecting from school. Looks like this snail has found a cosy little home.

The girls came round for a curry, and helped me try out Word Rush for a review.  I was terribly bad at the game, fuelled by wine, probably wasn’t ideal, but we did have some fun and a lot of much-needed laughs.

Friday 13th October – Day 286

Project 365 2017 Week 41

School started a parent council last year, but as the meetings are normally held on a Friday, I could never attend as I was on my photography course.  This year my course is on a Thursday so I decided to attend the first meeting of the school year.  It was really interesting and nice to be a part of something that will hopefully help communication between families and the school.

I needed to get a special frame sorted out for Daddy P’s birthday present so headed into town to get that ordered, before catching up with some jobs at home.

Monkey came home from school with homework, a poster about internet safety that he needs to design.  Let’s just say it wasn’t a battle I had the energy to fight today.  We’ve got a busy weekend and with Beavers on Monday, it will either be a rush job on Tuesday or it won’t get done.  He was far more interested in playing with his toys after school and making some new construction and that’s what I think Friday’s should be all about.

Saturday 14th October – Day 287

Project 365 2017 Week 41

We headed off on the train to meet up with my niece and her boyfriend in Birmingham for the day.  They are both at Uni there and Monkey wanted to revisit Think Tank so that’s where we went. It was two years since we’d last been there with my niece, and it was lovely to see the difference in Monkey.  Far more willing to try things out and he would actually stand still for more than a nano second to try out the interactive displays.  He even dressed up as a pilot!  The outdoor play area had been closed on our last visit, but the sun was shining and fun was to be had.  Mummy can you strap me in and pull me up?  Really?  Wow, he’d never have tried this out a few months ago.

We had a good catch up and we headed home on the train at the end of a lovely day.

  1. It sounds like you had a great day at the Safari Park. How lucky to see the tigers. They are beautiful creatures.
I love the mad eyes photo. Such fun!
Ugh! I hate my youngest bringing home homework to do. It’s always such a battle.
    Fab photos x

  2. Great to read he is so confident and coming on in leaps and bounds in so many areas of life.
Lots more nice days out, and great to play catch up with people you not seen for a while.
    Great snail picture

  3. A day out at Thinktank is always fun. It’s been a while since we last went – we must get around with it. Sounds and looks like you’ve had a good week with lots going on.

  4. It sounds like you’ve had a lovely week with meeting up with friends and your niece. It’s impressive that your school did something to raise awareness of mental health, I’m not sure many schools would do that!
It’s great to keep reading about how much more confident Monkey is getting.

I'd love to hear from you and try to reply to all comments
